Got my eval from Tesu!
#1
So I got an email saying my evaluation was done and here it is.

I know I still have quite a bit to go but I AM MOTIVATED! My hearts pounding because I feel like I'm really starting the first step towards finishing.
I'm looking for the best degree for testing out of, even thinking of quitting my job to study full time and finish faster. I have some money saved and am using the GI Bill at the moment so I can be reimbursed for classes and tests.

Is the liberal arts still the best way for me to go? I'll be getting a work visa abroad and using my work experience rather than my degree for work.

I have English Comp II almost complete as well as another computer class (CISB 11) and Business 1A in session for another 4 weeks.
I have completed Intermediate algebra and College algebra in ALEKS.

I am attending a local CC so I can get GI Bill benefits and knock out general ed.

Any advice is really appreciate and thank you for the the hours you spend on the boards changing lives! I am ready!!!

how long did it take to get eval done? Hoping mine gets done soon I'm sure it will be a great motivator.
#3
9 or 10 days! I got my acceptance on the 11th and waited a day or two to submit my transcripts. I sent in my Army JST and my CC transcripts (online submissions).

It is a great motivator I feel like the path is set. i just need a bit more guidance

It is sure going to be a motivator when you get yours too! Don't fret, get your plan together before you get it, work on courses you know you need.

Create a spreadsheet and plug these in - download one of dfrecore's BALS spreadsheets and substitute your details
Word of advice, take the majority if not all at Straighterline and Study.com for their affiliate/partnership pricing!
You can actually finish your degree with the two of them combined, and in a VERY fast pace/time. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply! I'll do that right away.

Do you suggest to keep taking courses at my local CC?

Yes, if you want to learn the contents more at the college level, then you do want it at the CC.
Unless the courses you can take are cheaper/easier/faster with ACE/NCCRS credits.

Any chance you want to go to grad school? If so, save as much of your GI Bill for that. I'm not sure how it works with ACE credits but I think your CLEP and DSST testing would be covered and maybe TECEPS? It will be faster to go through SL/Study etc than your local CC but if you don't want to pay for it that way then you can do the CC.

I'm actually not sure about wanting to go to grad school.

Ideally I would earn my bachelors and work in IT overseas and work on a second BA in IT. I know the GI Bill is wasted on cleps so it looks like I can go the SL/Study route and go out of my own pocket which I don't mind.

I'm more focused on finishing as fast as possible. It looks like using the spreadsheet I've only have to pay about $2500 or $3000 which I can do out of pocket I don't mind. Speed is the best...could I graduate by March?

What do you mean by wasted on CLEPs?
