I called Penn Foster, (education department) to be exact. I asked why a certain course wasn't ACE approved anymore. The individual over the phone named "Jim" (sorry had to put that out), was telling me don't worry about ACE approving our courses and asked why I was sending my courses to ACE. I told him the school I am interested requires for the courses to be on a ACE transcript etc. He than was telling me don't worry about the ACE transcript and let the school call Penn Foster and they will do it's best to approve it without a ACE transcript. He also told me, "Look..if Harvard, Yale, Columbia accepted our credits why won't the state college your interested won't?" I told him about Regional and National accreditation and he knew that already, but was again informing me that doesn't matter and was trying to tell me too not worry about the ACE transcript too much. I almost laughed over the phone and wanted to talk to another person over the phone but it was two minutes from closing so I had to hang up! If it's true what he says than damn, be proud certain credits from Penn Foster are being accepted by Harvard and Yale! :hurray: Not........

hilarious short answer- if its not ACE evaluated, don't take it. Phone guy was an idiot, as is often the case, good thing you knew your stuff!

Thanks! It was strange too, coming from the education department not a enrollment adviser. I do owe some money to my program, maybe he was scared knowing I was going to get all my credits accepted by ACE than bail and let collections find me, which of course I am not an idiot and won't let it get that far haha. But one can get the courses approved if your in an associates program with them, or certificate program by ACE immediately. They just won't send out "Penn Foster " transcripts until one is paid in full. Hmmm....
