Review of Micreconomics TECEP

After passing my third TECEP without having to read a large textbook from cover to cover, I'm starting to wonder why some people have made these exams out to be such a scary, daunting task. Of course, some subjects are just inherently difficult, but the tests themselves aren't all that bad.

I passed Microeconomics last night with a 71%. The score needed to pass is 70%. Now, that sounds low, but I only studied for a couple of hours by going through the InstantCert flashcards once. If I had more time, I would have gone through them twice and read a Wikipedia entry or something similar to fill in the gaps. IC didn't cover one of the experiments mentioned on the test or the reasons by behind passing some of the antitrust and trade laws. To add, I was mentally exhausted by the time I took the test because I had just taken three lab quizzes and a unit exam for my biology course at NMJC.

Also, microeconomics wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Economics is just like any other social science just with more numbers and graphs. It's still the study of human behavior, which I'm very familiar with.

Very true, the study of human decision making in the face of scarcity, or as John Maynard Keynes said "An apparatus of the mind, a technique of thinking, which helps its possessors to draw correct conclusions."

May I ask why the TECEP over the CLEP?

Not to speak for sanantone, but if I had the choice between TECEP and CLEP, and having taken neither at this point, I'd pick TECEP. Not too much more expensive after factoring in proctor fee for CLEP, and I get to take it at home.

Though I suspect sanantone's TECEP usage has more to do with fulfilling TESU residency requirements while they still count TECEP for a moment.

I need to fulfill the residency requirement, so I've mostly chosen TECEPs I can use toward my degree. It's actually cheaper for me since the only testing center nearby charges a $40 testing fee.

I'd be interested in getting your option on the science and nutrition TECEP. It looks relatively easy and something I would enjoy reading about for residency requirements.
