Help With Degree Plan

Hello all!!! This forum has been an amazing gold mine of information. I'm excited to finally buckle down and get my degree done. I would love some advice on how to best approach a bachelors degree in Information Technology as quickly as possible. TESU and WGU are the two colleges I'm leaning towards. I have a year subscription through Sophia.org but from what I've gathered WGU seems to not accept that many of their courses. I am also enrolled in the Google IT program.

The last publicly available information we have from Sophia ( https://web.archive.org/web/201603050752...ophia.org/ ) suggests that only a few courses are accepted for the college of IT. The last information we have from this forum ( https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/So...nformation ) indicates that several of those courses will overlap.

WGU does not have much in the way of gen eds and no electives. If you are not already familiar with IT, they can wind up being quite a bit slower and more expensive than TESU. If you are new to the industry, you might want to consider TESU instead. If you have experience and just need a degree to show for it, WGU is a great option for a (relatively) fast and cheap degree.

Although there are people who are able to finish WGU in 1 term (6 months), my understanding is that 2-3 terms is the more typical "fast" degree.

Getting an IT degree through TESU will be hampered by the chem/physics requirement - you need to either take General Chem I & II with labs, or Physics I & II with labs - and that's quite an expensive proposition. So I would determine if that's actually what you want to do BEFORE you decide on either degree.

Plan out both degrees including costs for ALL courses, to see what the best option is.
