- Business Policy***
- 45.00 semester credits in BAX subjects to include:
(of these, 24.00 credits must be at the advanced level)
- Intermediate Accounting I
- Intermediate Accounting II
- Cost Accounting
- Taxation-Individual (United States Tax)
- Taxation-Corporate (United States Tax)
- Advanced Accounting (partnerships & consolidations/advanced level)
- Auditing (professional, not internal/advanced level)
- Business Law II
- Finance II

Now I've been lurking on the forum for a while and saw that I can do the Information Literacy at Penn Foster for a much better price, and Also I can do Straighterline Acct 102 for the Intro to Accounting II, CLEP for business Law and CLEP for Intro to Marketing. Is anyone taking similar courses? and if so can they help me with finding whats a more price friendly alternative then taking the rest of the courses through Excelsior? and also if possible could they list out what are some places I can do the courses at or preferably Test out of. Thanks! Smile

I'm wondering what you've found out regarding your degree plan and how it's going. I'm new to this forum and looking into the NYS CPA track at Excelsior as well. Any info would be helpful!!

Many AICPCU exams have been evaluated for credit by ACE. Although they have a focus on insurance, there might be some that are applicable towards fulfilling your degree requirements. These exams cost around $235 usually.

AICPCU website

Here are two that I saw that I thought might be useful:

APA 91-Principles of Premium Auditing: Insurance Operations, Underwriting, Premium Audit Report, Law, Planning & Designing Premium Audits, Evaluating Accounting Systems, Insured's Operations/Employees, Automation

APA 92-Premium Auditing Applications: Insurance Rates and Rate Regulation; Workers’ Compensation Insurance and Premium Determination; Workers’ Compensation – Construction Operations; Maritime Workers’ Compensation Insurance and Premium Determination; Commercial General Liability Insurance, Classification, and Audit Procedures; Business Auto Insurance and Premium Determination; Motor Carrier Insurance and Premium Determination; Garage Insurance and Premium Determination; Commercial Property/Inland Marine Insurance and Premium Determination; and Other Premium Auditor Roles

There may be others you can use. Just look at the ACE recommendations guide found in the link I posted if you are interested.

Look at LSU Independent Study, Columbia College and Penn Foster for many of the accounting courses. There is a DSST for Business Law II and for Business Ethics.

Also, look at Colorado-Pueblo for Ops Management.

Are you sure that you would need an actual class for your Information Literacy requirement? I'm at COSC and my Capstone will automatically fufill this.

I just took DSST Business Ethics a few weeks ago and would recommend it. It was not that difficult, especially if you've been in the business world or have taken any other business courses. IC was the only thing I studied and passed with no problem.
