Not bad. I'd rather a minimalist degree than some of the ones I've seen on this forum covered with ridiculous numbers of emblems and too many colors of ink.

The black text could look a little cleaner, but otherwise I agree with wow -- I don't mind the minimalist design

This could have turned out "so money you don't even realize it" good, but it didn't...

While the diploma itself has solid materials (quality paper, embossed, with a seal and even a decent font), its design is lacking. Specifically, the contrast between the silver emblem and the title of the school is not good, making it almost impossible to see the logo or name; thus, reducing the authority of the diploma. Moreover, the layout is too tightly grouped together, which creates an impression of being cluttered and unbalanced.

There is also no visual hierarchy; the title of the degree is overpowering. Conversely, the name of the institution should have been much more obvious.

Finally, if this design could be improved with enhancements to the contrast (visual separation), spacing and balance of degree name versus institution name could produce a very polished and professional diploma.

I like this minimalist design, but the only drawback is that the school badge and emblem are not gold-stamped.

Union Institute and University was a pioneer in nontraditional higher education. Just about everything it did bucked the system, until it finally found one it just couldn't beat: finance.

The University of Leicester is a century-old British university. (A university college until its Royal Charter in 1957.)

My diploma from Union is as ornate as it gets. It's huge and gothic with all the typical flowery language one finds on such things. It measures 11x14" in Landscape.

My diploma from Leicester looks like it was typed up on a Selectric. It's small--A4, which is nearly "letter." (Narrower but slightly longer.) It is in Portrait format.

You just never know.

When I was issued a diploma by National University, it was back when David Chigos, the founder, was still president. It was in Portrait format, used block lettering, and looked like an award that would hang in an executive's office. It was printed on cloth with a hard backing and was in a padded folder.

About 20 years laterI thought I'd lost it in one of my many moves, so I requested a replacement. What I got was a "normal" diploma in Letter format with scripted lettering. Thankfully, I found the first one.

You just never know.
