How are the online courses for both EXC. and TESC?
#1
I just don' like that EXC online course if 15 weeks long, however TESC is 12 weeks long. Looking to Majoring in Political Science and will be clepping some of the courses. I'm just wondering if the online courses from either school requires a lot of time into the work or is it just a once a week assignment?

My TESC classes were all nearly the same in terms of work load. The mentor makes or breaks the level of attention they give to your work. I had one mentor for 2 classes working on his PhD and he was REALLY excited to point out all of my in text citation errors according to MLS vs. the APA style Wink yeah, that's what I thought.

On the other hand, nearly every other mentor graded my paper like this:
good. 100.
on occasion, I would get this:
nice job. 100
A mid-term (sociology of work) got me the most feedback. After 13 hand-written pages in a furious attempt at answering all of the questions inside the time limit, the sum total of my efforts was:
overall good. watch your spelling. 96.

Ok, so you can draw your own conclusions. I would have gotten a perfect 4.0 if it were not for the hell of my life called biology...but anyway... I did the work, I got the grade. Don't expect to be taught at TESC, just verified. (no worries, you can learn at Harvard with me Smile

In 12 weeks you can expect 6 modules. So for each 2 weeks you will probably have a discussion question(s) and a paper to write based on a reading assignment from a text and possibly a journal article. I always took 6-12 credits, and spent <8 hours per week on my TESC classes. (I took exams and enrolled at another college as well)

I might try Ashford University since they offer 5 week courses at $250 per credit. First, I will attempt to clep and whatever I don't pass, I will then take it online.

There are plenty of choices out there for online classes-- I wouldn't limit it to just Ashford. You could use Penn Foster, community colleges, state colleges. There are other options less expensive than $250 per credit.

you're right but i'm trying to keep classes under 8 weeks but seems like most are 12-16 weeks. I was also looking at Regis University. The local cooleges online are over 12 weeks long. It's just too long to earn credits.
