Political Science Courses

Hi there,

For my sister, I'm looking for alternative Political Science courses.

What I have for now:
American Government (SL, Study.com, ...)
Introduction to Political Science (TECEP)
Introduction to Western Political Thought (Saylor)
Introduction to Comparative Politics (Saylor, TECEP)

She wants to complete a degree in Liberal Arts with focus on History and Political Science.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!

I don't have any to add but I just wanted to say that I just finished the American Gov course from Study.com and I thought it was a very good course. The final lined up verrry well with the quizzes.

What counts within Political Science? Do criminal justice courses? Pearson Learning Solution and Penn Foster have history/political science/criminal justice courses. But Study.com and Straighterline are hands done the more economical options.

Shmoop has US History I, II and Modern Europe History. They also have courses that I would personally consider to be history AND literature; like Holocaust in Literature and Shakespeare's Plays. That might be worth asking about. But they are officially listed as Literature. The Saylor Academy course called Environmental Ethics, Justice and World Views might work for political science credits. Wish Saylor would get their 3 history classes ACE approved. But it seems like business is their focus. You could check Sophia too.

If you look at TESU's PoliSci degree, it lists tons of courses. None seem to be AOJ/CJ, so I wouldn't count on those.

Since it's not a true Concentration, but something that your sister is kind of making up on her own, I would just suggest that she take courses that interest her. I personally think that would be awesome!

CSU-Global:
Public Administration (Definitely, it's listed under the Political Theory & Process section)
Public Policy & Strategy
Race, Gender & Ethnic Relations in the US (not sure, this might be just Sociology?)
Race, Class & Crime (Sociology?)

These also have lots of interesting courses:
CSU-Pueblo Independent Study $495/course
U of Idaho IS $510/course

Rio Salado has 5 courses that should transfer in in public administration. They are very easy btw.

Excelsior has a couple of Exams in that area I beleive, might be called Uexcel Exams now.

University of Idaho has one or two Poly Sci and some good History options.

The Comparative Politics TECEP is POS-282. It's only $114, so that's a better price than the TCC course (which ends up being around $220 with the $25 ProctorU fee included). But, why would you take either of those when you could take the $25 Saylor course/exam? The TECEP even lists the Saylor course as what you should use to prep for the TECEP exam.
