Congrats to Alabama!

Most embarrassing performance I have ever witnessed from a "#1 ranked" team.
LSU simply didn't deserve to have a shot at the title with that kind of play.

Which brings me to this threadjacking!
Eliminate the BCS!!! We need a playoff system, just like they do in lower divisions of NCAA football!

Why did LSU not deserve a shot at the title man? Did you see there schedule this year? They just ran out of gas in the end, and Alabama just took advantage of that.

Amen to Eliminate the BCS though, playoff systems are need. Think, if we had the plus1 system they are talking about, we would have had LSU v Stanford, and Alabama v OSU. I dare anyone to tell me that is not an awesome idea.

Personally I think rankings and strength of schedule are overrated and what led us to the BCS. It's all subjective in nature and with all the various analysts having zero consensus.
But looking at all the post season strength of schedule lists, LSU had only 1 analyst who put them at the top, all others didn't even put them in the top 10.
Now I agree that LSU being in the SEC, will always have a tough schedule, but a real championship team should never run out of gas the way they did.
They really did not show up for the game having only crossed the 50 just once in the entire game.

Alabama vs OSU would been an amazing game! DOWN WITH THE BCS!

For the record, I am not for nor against LSU, as I have no room to talk being a Nebraska fan.

Cheers!

The ranking system never rally made any sense to me at all. It seems designed to keep it "unclear" so the colleges keep pumping money into their football teams to ensure they at least have a shot. The day of the game I actually saw a commentator state that it would be perfectly sensible if Alabama won the game but LSU won all the votes and was still deemed "the best team" as a result.

I only watched the last quarter of the game, but the LSU quarterback was having a total meltdown. Every time he turned around there was a sea of red bearing down on him. He looked like he was going to cry after throwing the ball into the ground a couple of times. I felt kind of bad for the guy actually.

Yes technically if the game was close and Alabama only squeaked a win, it was possible for LSU to still have been voted #1.

Jefferson the QB looked lost, normally he is poised and in control, but not in that game.
And then for Bama to throw the ball over the "honey badger" all night was just comical.
