SuzQ, YOU ARE A ROCK STAR!!!!!! Congratulations. I'm soo impressed by your determination, and laughed out loud about Dr Bear's infomercial, I'll have to go look that up. He's still alive and kicking by the way! If you ever get the chance, pop into the "other" forum and say hello. He's a regular there.

I wish you all the best, and should you desire, I have no doubt you'd do awesome in grad school. Put all those mad APA skills to work Wink Congratulations!!!

Life Long Learning Wrote:Congrats!:hurray: I think folks like you are why this forum is the best. I agree John Bear changed my life 35-years ago also.

Can you tell us more about the LA 498 capstone?

How did you teach yourself APA style?
How to create a formal APA outline?
Post notes to a Discussion board?
PowerPoint via a fantastic “teacher” on YouTube............LINK?

I'm planning on posting a more complete review of EC's LA498 Capstone in the future, but the quick answers in order are:

Google, google, google until you find APA instructional guides that "gel" with your personal learning style - many colleges provide great resources.
Purdue Owl
ECs own video instructions via their site for Discussion post "lessons".

"Amir Parmar" for awesome PowerPoint instructions - I went from never having seen a PP to successfully creating one thanks to his YouTube videos. (Just make sure you end up with the English version as he also has lessons in Urdu!) Side note - he "teaches" all the Microsoft Office programs, not just PP.

However, the most important key to Capstone success (for me) was to print out and work on the LA 498 course provided syllabus BEFORE signing up for the class. Many classmates had assignment topics with sources ready to go on DAY ONE!
