OK, I will look at the ones you guys have mentioned.
I was scoping out the APU site, the BA in English looks like it might have potential. Any thoughts?
(Actually on second thought... the CJ degree looks pretty good.... *smacks self*)

Here's the deal, she can go to OSU for approx. 10k a year. So the whole point is to find something cheaper than that. And online.
Don't forget that she would be eligible for E-Tuition. How many credit hours would she take each year?
For cheap, you can't beat the Big 3.

clep3705 makes a fantastic point, but once again the community's response is to first get needlessly defensive and then attack him about things he never even said.
Sometimes I wonder what the point of having more than one member to this site is.

No, the one member who posts under hundreds of different user names, but claims to be different people who think exactly the same way :roflol:

Also, just as everyone has the right to give his opinion, everyone else has the right to refute it.

Anywho, PonyGirl93, would there be any benefit to your sister also getting a degree through TESC? It may help motivationally. (Wow, spell check passed that one.) If not, she has LOTS of options, which others have covered better before. Really, more of her effort will go into deciding she wants in an online college rather than finding a good online college; there are plenty of the latter.

Well, looking through TESC's English courses, I was not at all impressed with their selection... In fact, they have like.... 5.
I think she is pretty definite on online school, as long as she can find a cost efficient one.
Does anyone have any APU cautions/recommendations?

(This post was last modified: 12-01-2010, 08:05 PM by clep3705.)
I provided links to three brick and mortar schools with extensive, established online degree programs. My point is that it might be possible to get an online degree from a brick and mortar school for about the same cost as a school that isn't brick and mortar.
If the cost is the same, it makes sense to get an online degree that is indistinguishable from an online degree. I'm an online student myself. My degrees are coming from brick and mortar schools. My associate's degree is costing only $70 per credit hour for my online classes. Online + CLEP = low cost degree that looks like a brick and mortar degree.
In Texas, you must enroll in and complete 18 hours at a community college or junior college to get a degree from it. You need 60 hours total from all sources to get a degree. 60 - 18 = 42 hours from CLEP. 14 CLEP tests at $77/each plus 18 hours at $70/hour = $2,338 for an associate's degree that appears to be brick and mortar.
It doesn't matter what I think. It doesn't matter what you think. It does matter what the person who could hire you thinks.

Taking into account what you actually meant here I would love to get a degree that looks like a B&M degree, but my options are seriously limited. So, apparently, are my sister's. The schools that you listed look great, but none if them have an English degree, which is apparently what she is itching to do (not really sure why). I am willing to look at any schools, B&M or online.
She is planning to get a master's after this anyway, she just needs a BA to get her full-fledged certification as an interpreter.
