A big hello to all and many thanks in advance,
I've been on the site on and off for 7 years or so. I made an attempt to get a degree back then but having a child and then the whole Covid thing delayed it all. My son is now in kindergarten and I have more time for studies so I've decided to get back to it. My goal is to get a undergrad bachelors degree, so I can get my teachers’s certification. I'm an ESL teacher now.
Quickest route possible but some sort of educational focus would be good. Business or management is ok too. UPMI seems like a good fit if it’s still possible to transfer in 90 credits and I can finish the last credits in 2-4 months. Sophia is a good match for me at this point for the rest of my 90 credits.
Any guidance or a specific plan would be very helpful and appreciated.

I would say BLS Educational Studies seems like a good fit
https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan
Also see if any other minors interest you as you might have enough space in electives to do a minor

+1, I agree with UMPI BLS with a minor or two, plus 3-4 classes that can go towards the MAOL for later. Here's a thread post from yesterday with the links to the WIKI and UMPI Plans: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...the-better
For reference, your previous thread, I guess the only things you've completed are the Sophia.org, StraighterLine, and Study.com classes, did you do anything more? https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...er-science

Thanks for the links and info. I'll check them out. I'm interested in the Educational Studies but maybe a masters would be a better focus on that. The sooner I can get a bachelors, the sooner I can study for the programs where you can get a teachers license from abroad. Would you happen to know is the faster program at UMPI considering the credits I've acquired so far?
thanks

Thanks for the reply bjcheung77. I see you are still working on degrees now. Inspiring. I also see you wrote "I have to Study" as your sign off graphic, so only get back to my questions when you have time.
I've looked at those two links you sent and they were both helpful.
A few questions when you have time:
So BLS is the faster paced bachelors degree at UPMI? Which one, considering my credits, would be the fastest track? I've been trying to understand how to plan my Sophia Learning schedule to finish as much as I can from the 90 credits. I've looked around for an updated spreadsheet like the ones I found before that show the possible classes vi SL, Study.com and Sophia, but I haven't been able to find one. Is there an updated version of this somewhere on DF?
How would I check the Straighter Line credits, Sophia, Study.com ones to see what I need to first take at Sophia? (yes, that's all I've done with online courses). Also how would I check if my old City College of San Francisco classes would count as credits to UPMI? Does the TEXX course I took in 2019 still count as credit?
I had not read anything about the MAOL. Is it possible to do some of those courses other places to reduce the cost of it? I'm interested in getting a masters some day, but 14k is a lot with my ESL earnings here in Taipei.
thanks again and I look forward to your reply,
Nev

LevelUP linked you to the BLS degree plan and minors available for UMPI, here's the WIKI for UMPI and the plan list for their degree offerings. It's got all the requirements and what you want to take from which provider, just follow it accordingly as these plans are regularly updated, it'll also show you the 3-4 classes that can go towards the MAOL, thus, allowing you to complete it cheaper, easier, and faster.
All of your previous credits you mentioned including the ones from college should transfer in.
UMPI: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Un...esque_Isle

Last but not least, the MAOL won't cost you $14K, it's $2350/session, people can finish in two sessions for $4700 in total. It's all you can take classes each session, I wouldn't try rushing UMPI BLS and the MAOL, slowly go at a comfy pace even though some have completed 10 BLS classes in a session, it took me a session to complete 7 of 10.

The Educational Studies program consists of 7 courses, and then you choose 3 additional electives to complete the 10-course residential requirement at UMPI. You should be able to finish this in one to two terms.
The Business BLS programs might be slightly faster, though not by much.

Hi Again LevelUP,
I have a few questions that maybe you can answer. I've been looking at the UMPI Wiki you made on here and I'm trying to figure out a few steps. I've completed all my Sophia/Study.com/StraighterLine GEC and I have 90+ credits that have transferred in. I've been accepted to UMPI. Initially, I was going to pursue the educational minor, but I'm now more interested in the History minor and possibly the Political Science minor as well. Also, next year, I plan to do the MAOL at UMPI.
My question is: Can I take 3 upper-level classes at Study.com and fulfill 3 out of the 4 required upper-level History courses at UMPI? I understand I need 18 credits (12 upper-level) for the History Minor (plus 30 total credits at UMPI) . My reasoning is that I would like to complete the 3-4 required MAOL classes while taking my BLS. Also, I'd like to take fewer upper-level history courses at UMPI.
Is that all possible? I see on your minor Wiki it says take two upper-level UMPI history classes.
thanks for your help!

bjcheung77,
Thanks for all the info. I've finished all my GEC and I've transferred 90+ credits into UMPI after I was accepted. I wrote LevelUP at another place in this thread about trying to take some upper-level History classes at Study.com. If you have any input on that I'd love to hear it.
Thanks again for all your help. I start at UMPI September 1st.

Unfortunately, (or fortunately for that matter), you've transferred in enough credits already for your degree at UMPI, you can add the minor, but you must take the classes at UMPI. Sophia.org/Study.com classes are all general education and electives, for classes that have been transferred in after May 1, 2025. You can decide if you can take the extra time to complete the required classes, for example, work 1 session for the two minors, and work another session on the classes that can transfer into the MAOL as well. So, say about 15-16 classes in two sessions (depending on what has been transferred in already)... https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...ed-By-UMPI

Principally, not all. Some Sophia and Study courses still come into some majors and minors.

When I look at the current UMPI database for history, it seems like more courses now count as 300-level or higher. So, you might be able to complete everything through Study.com, unless this is your only minor for the BLS, in which case I believe UMPI requires you to take some courses directly with them for the first minor.
Now that Study.com offers an unlimited plan, the minors at UMPI are even more attractive.
