I need HELP!!
#1
I need help! This whole process can be quite confusing. I have been lurking in this site for a while and finally decided to make an account.
To give a quick background, Currently I am a Quality Improvement Specialist with about 9 years in the healthcare administration industry. Lack of a bachelor's degree restricts me obtaining any leadership positions. I have so many college credits so I decided to try and get a quick degree. However, it has not been so easy.

I applied at WGU and TESU. They both evaluated my transcripts(2 transcripts from 1 CC and 1 University). WGU decided to transfer 39 of my credits for their Business Administration program, while TESU transferred 85 of my credits(I had 9 old itt tech credits that WGU accepted but not TESU). I originally had my degree evaluation plan with TESU for BSBA-HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT(left me with 76 credits to complete) but when I spoke to an advisor recently they advised me that more credits would transfer if I do a BA Liberal Arts-Healthcare Management degree(left me with needing only 35 credits.) I have attached my most recent program evaluation for the BA degree and the email TESU’s advisor sent right after.
I’m trying to figure out my plan of attack but don’t know which classes I should take first. I’m trying to get done the fastest/easiest/cheapest route possible.

Additional Questions:
Is there any other schools where I can get done faster and still transfer in all my credits?
I do want to complete my MBA at some point. What would the best/cheapest option be?
Would a COSC BS degree in Healthcare Admin be a better option?

I appreciate any feedback! Thanks

I'd say do the TESU BALS-Healthcare Management, then WGU for the MBA (https://www.wgu.edu/online-business-degr...ogram.html)

Study.com has all your concentration requirements - and come in as the UL that you need  https://study.com/college/school/thomas-...rsity.html (and everything else your missing can be found very easily and cheap; although Study.com has everything you're missing). The Study.com affiliation gives you the Tuition Discount also for the Cornerstone and Capstone requirement

Health 303: Healthcare Organization & Management
Business 301: Change Management
Business 319: Negotiations & Conflict Management
Health 301: Ethical & Legal Issues in Healthcare
Health 308: Healthcare Quality & Outcome Measurement
Business 324: Managerial Communication

You can get your Ethics requirement for free using the Institutes' ethics course. Here is the Wiki link for other Free, or nearly free, options to fill up those few GE Electives slots (which can be literally anything) - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Fr..._of_Credit

I think the best degree is going to be the one that pays the best rewards for you in your career. Seriously, at the end of the day a few thousand dollars or a few months difference is NOT a good reason to take a degree that won't serve you as well as one that takes a bit more time. You're only doing this once- and you've waited this long, pick the one that is the best for your career.

I agree with BALS-HCM.

WGU for the MBA.

Thanks you all so much for your feedback.

Allvia- what do you mean by “The Study.com affiliation gives you the Tuition Discount also for the Cornerstone and Capstone requirement ”

Also, can someone help me put together a degree plan for tesu based on my evaluation

The price per credit with Study.com courses is currently $379 per credit (for 2019/2020)
- compared to the in-state of $399/out-of-state $509 per credit

https://www.tesu.edu/studycom/costs-tuition

Everyone has the same residency waiver rate, currently $2800

I gave you all the courses you need for your UL concentration through Study.com, and what you can use for the Ethics (for free).  I'm sure some others can help guide you for options on the remaining open Gen Eds/Electives (I'm a generalist, not a planner  Smile  )

I know that you can't get a HCM degree or concentration using only Study.com courses in that area - TESU hasn't approved them all for it. And I know they won't take Change Management from Study.com. So you either need to take additional courses through TESU to complete the degree, or find another school.

WGU has a Business degree in Healthcare Management, as well as a BS in Health Information Management (Health side).

Just because WGU takes fewer credits doesn't mean that they're going to be more expensive - if you can finish in 1 term, they are cheaper than TESU by far, and if you have to take some expensive courses to complete your degree at TESU, then even 2 full terms at WGU will be cheaper.

Instead of looking BACKWARD (how many credits were given for prior coursework), look FORWARD (how many credits you need to take, how long it will take, and how much it will cost). You may be very surprised that WGU may be cheaper/faster than TESU, and give you a more useful degree to boot - the GE to Major ratio at TESU is generally 60/40, while WGU is generally 30/70 - which may be a much better option for many people.

You mentioned I can take all 6 UL requirements at study.com but based on my follow up email in my attachment above, the tesu advisor said only 3 of my UL courses can be taking at study.com and the other 3 have to be taken as tesu online course. Was she wrong on this?

TESU did not approve all of Study.com's courses for HCM, so those are out.
