College Algebra or Mathematics

Hello all,

I need to take either the College Algebra (need a 53) or College Mathematics (need a 50) CLEP. I'm not the best in the world at either. Which would you suggest I take? From your experience, which one is easier?

College Mathematics is definitely easier. I studied for two weeks for College Algebra and got a 62, whereas I barely studied for College Math (afterward, mind you) and scored a 73. I had 4 minutes left when I finished College Algebra, and over 30 minutes left when I finished College Math.

With IC (using the Firefox fix a member posted a while ago) and a bit of concept research when needed, you should be able to get well above 50.

Or you could go for both and get 9 credits!

College Math was really easy for me, and I'm totally not a math person. My test was very heavy on probability, with a lot of logarithmic functions. Here's the official breakdown on questions:

Types of questions:

* 50% Solving the given, routine problems
* 50% Solving non-routine problems that require you to understand concepts as well as their application. (Multi-step problems)

What those questions will cover:

* 25% Probability and Statistics
* 20% Functions and their Graphs
* 20% Real Number System
* 15% Additional Algebra and Geometry topics
* 10% Logic
* 10% Sets
