In the TESC 2007-2008 catalog
http://www.tesc.edu/catalog/pdf/catalog.pdf
it seems to have CLEP Financial Accounting listed as 6 hours. Is this a mistake? Is it really speaking of the old test, "Principles of Accounting" which included the managerial.
Also, has anyone taken the new one yet? I was suppose to take the old one two days after I was evacuated from my home due to flooding:eek: . I had to cancel so I will be taking the new one soon. It would be great if it still counted for the 6 hours.
Thanks for any help,
Mark

It's either a mistake, as Financial Accounting is a 3 credit exam, or for some reason they've decided to award double the credits for it.

I'd love to get clarification on this. The latest TESC catalog says 6 credits for ACC-101/102. Even the
CollegeBoard website lists Financial Accounting as six credits!
Has anyone actually had an evaluation on this CLEP from TESC? Is it six or three? If six, what does it apply to?

It is probably only 3 credits. It was a 6 credit exam including Financial and Managerial Accounting, but was changed last June or July to include just financial. The catalog, of course, was printed WAY before the new test came out.

The TESC catalog is actually updated recently. For one thing, its the 2008-2009 catalog. The telling sign though, is that several of the DSST exams have passing scores of 400 listed. The new DSST did not begin until July, so the catalog has been updated at least then. The CLEP Financial Accounting has been listed as 6 credits now for over a year. I don't know if it counts as 3 or 6, but based upon everything else I'd say 6.

The catalog has been updated twice since that exam was updated, but for some reason TESC has not yet updated that particular piece of information to reflect the Financial Accounting CLEP as now being only 3 credits.
It amazes me that they have the new DSST scoring, yet still have outdated info on the accounting CLEP!

The 2008-2009 catalog also uses the new name for the accounting exam "Financial Accounting" vs the old "Principles of Accounting".
Again, has anyone taken this new exam and had credit on their degree evaluation?

OK, I finally have the answer.
Quote:...
In January 2007, CLEP introduced a new Financial Accounting exam. The equivalent to a one-semester course, Financial Accounting replaces the Principles of Accounting exam, which covered two semesters of knowledge - Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting. I apologize for any confusion our catalog may have caused you.

So there you have it, I've registered for ACC-102.
