I just put these in the EC credit bank (a few items), let's see where it leads.
I know they can't put all of them to effective use, but surely I can't be too far off from a BA...
BTW, all of the CLEPS/DSST's were taken "cold" except American History I and American Government. I was in Bosnia (US Army) and tested at a remote field office of the U of Maryland with no study materials. That was a tough way to do it...

Welcome to the forum!
Wow you have a lot of credits! That is impressive that you earned so many on your own!
Here is a quick overview of what you need for a BA in Liberal Studies:
http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...#post59730
Just taking a quick look at your list:
I think you already have a depth in history.
I think you have the 12/12/9 credits you need for general education.
Just looking at your DSSTs, since I am not sure how your other credits will count, it looks like you are low in upper-level credits. Getting this will help if you still need to complete a second depth, too. If you want to choose a major or an area of focus, that will change your choices.
I think you will need freshman English (class or ECE), despite having both CLEPs, and information literacy.
I donât know if business math counts towards the math requirement; youâll need to check on that.
You definitely have an excellent start. Just be sure to find out exactly what you still need to complete your degree.
Let us know what they say so we can help you get this finished!

Hey NAP! I just sent you a PM. I just wanted to add to your already excellent advice.
Uexcel now has ACE approval for their College Writing exam: ACE | National Guide Online | Browse The Guide and since it's way cheaper than the ECE, I thought it would bear mentioning. Looks like Excelsior students now can really test out of that composition requirement. It looks like the exam is two prompted essays with two hours to complete. Also, with this exam costing about $85, it is comparable in cost to the CLEPs and DSSTs--and offered in many of the same locations, so I'm recommending it! UExcel - College Credit by Exam
Additionally, I want to note that Business Math was considered Applied Professional /Free Elective for me, but I had taken it after I had already fulfilled my quantitative requirement. I still feel that it will most likely be considered applied professional. And here's a blank template to help for anyone who might need some guidance figuring out your own EC degree plan: http://www.degreeforum.net/62322-post10.html
Good luck!

Wow. Thanks for the hints and information. I discovered this forum, and it was like an oasis of inside information and direction for me.
I really didnât think Business Math would count for much. I actually look forward to taking more math classes, as that is my weakest spot in education. Realistically, I could study and manage to pass CLEP College Algebra⦠but still wouldnât be very adept, so I want to take the classes. I saw in another thread that LSU has a few excellent (and apparently inexpensive) on-line math courses that will help boost me... while I test out of the other requirements to round out the requirements.
My biggest problem is I donât know what those specific finishing requirements are yet⦠but hopefully I will soon.
Iâll be looking at the Uexcel English because of the price. Thanks for the heads up. I didnât know it existed! Iâm not very worried about English. It was always my best subject in school and easy for me. I donât anticipate much of a problem in testing out of it at higher level.
Once again, I really appreciate comments and advice. I think Iâll start off in the direction of a Liberal Studies BS degree⦠and see where the spirit (or counselors) lead me. Iâm flexible ideas, and I know most students change their major several times in route to their goals. I just want that diploma by Christmas â10.
Now if youâll excuse me⦠Iâm off to look at the links that you all graciously provided!!!!

Thanks Alissa for the additional information!
I did not know about the UExcel exam for English; that is excellent news!
I love the template you put together for a BS in Liberal Studies; Iâll be sure to pass that around!

Isnât this place wonderful? I love it here!
For math, also consider the College Math CLEP and ALEKS.com.
Try Alissaâs template; that will help you to see where you stand. The guide to credit-by-exam will tell you which categories the CLEPs and DSSTs are considered.
Sounds like you have a great attitude about this and a reasonable time frame to accomplish your goal!

Hope that helps! There is also a new orientation requirement that I don't have listed in my plan, but it's free and provided through Excelsior when you enroll, so I didn't update for something that small.
You may want to apply and see if you can get a second depth in industrial management or something like that rather than doing a second depth in psychology, but I don't know enough to advise you on that so I put in the psychology depth instead. You may want to consult with an EC adviser about that! Good luck!

I appreciate you taking the time to do that Alissa. Although it may be an educated guess, I'll wager it's pretty close.
The latest EC update for me is that they have received some of my transcripts, but not all. I'll be back to update as things develop.
You guys are just too cool! Thanks for the help. I don't feel so alone now!

I was a bit off, when I guessed that the Community College of the Air Force might award 55252 Civil Engineering studies (3 credits) and 43153 Aircraft Maintenance studies (6 credits).
I got my own copy of the transcript yesterday, and the following was listed:
PHE 1000 Physical Education/Awareness 4.00 sh
AMT1208 MFG Technical Manuals 1.00 sh
AMT1218 Airframe Sys/Components 4.00 sh
AMT1299 Intro Aircraft Maintenance 4.00 sh
AMT2264 Aircraft Entry level Maint 4.00 sh
INT5000 Journeyman (Internship) 4.00 sh
The question I have, is a semester hour the same as a credit hour to Excelsior? I have heard different opinions on this so far.
Let's hope the answer is "yes", and EC takes these 21 hours. I'll keep you posted.
