With reported plans to use the space as a community art cafe, the group had a notice posted to the door stating it had the right to occupy the venue, citing a law that protects squatters in non-residential buildings.
The squatters reportedly claimed that any attempt to enter the spot without permission was a criminal offense and could result in a prison sentence or fine.

In the UK, it's considered entirely a civil matter. Unless they've occupied the space for 10 years, they don't get to keep, but the court paperwork is a nightmare. Ramsay will likely just pay them off.
