Last two exams...Please help!!
#1
Hello Everyone,
I am two clep/dsst exams away from my degree(BA in Social Science)...if i take two 6 credit ones. This is where I need your help. I was going to try and do Humanities and Social Science and History, however it seems so overwhelming. History has never been my strongest subject, and I am freaking out trying to study for it all. We won't even talk about how I feel about HumanitiesI can't use Instantcert since I am overseas and my browser conflicts with my cc. Can anyone give me any advice as to what my options are? Am I freaking out over nothing? It just seems like so much information. I took Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology, which is why I was attempting the SS & History clep, but goodness gracious, there is so much other stuff to study. I am freaking out here. Please help!!!

Thank You!!

If you've taken Psychology and Sociology, I don't think the SS&H exam is that out of the question for you. Most of the questions tend to be pretty surface level questions. If I were you, I would get the COMEX guide for SS&H and use it as an overview, then do internet research to go a little deeper.

Humanities would be more challenging...I'm not techie, but is there no way to readjust your browser settings to be able to use IC?

I just took SS& History....I really didn't use IC much because there were so many flashcards. I took all 3 Petersen's tests and then review the questions I missed. Good luck!

Lets just talk about SS&H for now.
You took 3 key classes, but you need to grasp one of the histories to pull through the test. I STRONGLY suggest getting the REA general CLEP book (you can use it for the humanities too) it has an A+ section for the SS&H exam.
In my opinion, you need to go back and review Psych, soc, and anthro. Get into the mode that you need to get 90% of those questions right. In other words, be STRONG on the basics (this exam is VERY basic).
Then, I'd hit US History 1 and 2 material from the REA guide, not the specific subject guide. The reason is because if you get into the subject guides, your going to go too deep (it's deep!) when you really only need a nice general understanding.
So, history is 50% of the test- if you can nail your ologies and have a good understanding of US history, you can skip world history and do a teeny-tiny over view of economics and govt. which are in the REA General Exam guide.

You can do it, but just make a plan and work the plan.

Thank you all so much for your feedback. I will take your advice and take a stab at it. I will let you all know how it goes. I wish I could use instantcert but my IP address is in Japan so it doesn't match my credit card which is in the U.S. since I am on a military base. It sucks, but there is nothing they can do about it.

I have the books you mentioned, so I will use them along with Peterson's and run with it. I am planning to take it next Wednesday. It seems like I have a 100 of my own flashcards made up.

Thank you again everyone!

Jennifer, I am getting ready to take Psych of Women TECEP and I think I got an "A" in Social Psych. Thanks for all your support!!!
