Edit Reason: remembered option
)
Hi. After 5 hard months at the new job, they're ready to send me to the 1 week management course promised (I'm newish to management). Problem is the class was just cancelled till January. Found out that organization has gone insane with the politics (probably needs to revamp the curriculum). My boss recommended I look for an alternative. The budget is 0 to 3K (including lodging/food). Ideas: #1 Fantasy - HAU allows me to finish/nearly finish a course in a week (I'm registered in the MBA program but haven't completed anything). #2 More fantasy - I take a class elsewhere HAU accepts for transfer #3 I complete some kind of online program or course - might be hard to prove the value? #4 I find another course Dale Carnegie comes to mind #5 I stick with an Information Security course and add another certification to my name (think it would be fairly easy to make this turn). Privacy may be a weak spot and my cloud knowledge is still behind. This may be good https://ciso.eccouncil.org/cciso-certification/
Business skills I need to build: Managing people, Public speaking, Budgeting, Negotiation, etc... I can travel if need be (in Virginia so don't prefer to go to far - Florida flights are cheap, DC is close but expensive). I also have a camper - LOL and it's got AC.

Amberton has a ton of management courses. Sessions are 10 weeks long. Tuition is $285 per credit plus about $35 in fees per session. If you wanted to complete an MBA there, you could. You could take their classes and transfer them elsewhere. They also have numerous certificate programs.

Here are a couple of classes which may help you. You can look at the syllabus. It will list the books needed so you could buy them and read them even if you don't take the course. Just reading books on the subjects you're looking for should help you. To help with public speaking, you could join a local Toastmasters.

Thanks. A couple years back, I planned to do Amberton's professional development degree but the HAU MBA came around @3k. Not sure their program will help me with this particular situation but will go to the site. With this new job I have money but no time : If things clear up for me, I want the MBA and perhaps a Spiritual-based degree (for fun).

@jb111, If your heart is in the MBA, don't deviate, you should actually go for that first. It's an amazing deal and students were able to complete it in less than 18 months when the program should be 2 years, some were done in 15 months! Basically stick with this option as each course you select actually "adds" to pretty much what you're looking for and can be done completely online.

I had another thought you! Have you looked into online classes from LinkedIn Learning? They have tons of classes with a monthly subscription. You'd get a LinkedIn digital badge for the courses you complete. There are some certificate programs as well.
Udemy is another source for classes. You have to buy each individual class there though, but they frequently run sales and your job is paying.

If you're looking at LinkedIn and Udemy, why not Coursera and/or edX?

LinkedIn courses are quite often pretty short. It's also only $30 for a monthly subscription. I know from experience that LinkedIn courses are much shorter and faster than Coursera. Cheaper too. First month is free for LinkedIn Learning. No quizzes in LinkedIn Learning unlike Coursera. Some of the quizzes on Coursera are ridiculous.
Another option:

Thanks both - with one week, it would be easier to do one of those you mentioned. If HAU would allow me to accelerate, maybe I could do that (e.g start the class a couple weeks earlier and use the one week to finish it up). There is a leadership class that counts towards the MBA

This is another option. Definitely more costly than LinkedIn Learning or Udemy. Could be cool having a certificate from an Ivy school though.
