At UMPI, you are required to maintain at least a 3.0. You can't pass a class with a grade lower than a B. Honestly, most classes I've taken, it's REALLY easy to get at least a B.

I did not know that at the beginning which is why I suggested it at first. Sorry, maybe I should have been more clear. The CS degree is the overall end goal, regardless of chosen method. The GPA is a concern if getting an associate's, then transferring to a traditional school. If I went with a suggested online school it wouldn't be as much of an issue.

Basically, there are only two ways to bump up your GPA, the easiest is to retake the course at the same school, the other option requires you to take MANY more courses just to off set the lower GPA you have. Depending on the number of courses and your grades, I would only recommend taking failed courses, leave the C's and above alone...
If you have mainly c- and d grades, that depends on the school you would like to attend, some take C-, some take the lower D. BTW, taking ACE courses for credit will not affect your GPA as they are pass/fail, taking courses at a college for lower level or at partnership programs such as Portage/TEL, or taking graded exams such as UEXCELS will help.
