I am scheduled to take humanities2210 in college but I can also take the humanities clep because I need six credits from that category and can use both. My question is how much crossover, if any , does the course content for each have? the class I will be taking is humanities the foundation but I think the clep exam is modern/ post modern. I guess what I am asking is, by taking the course will I have some info covered and will that make it any easier to take the humanities clep?

The easy answer is - Any additional material you'll cover in the course will of course help you with the CLEP too. Humanities is a broad exam, and it does cover the modern as well as the classical.
The Humanities CLEP is worth six credits by itself though, so why not give the CLEP a try before taking your class? If you pass, you'll get the entire six credits needed for that category and it will save you some money as well.

Oh, doubtless. I'm sure it would almost fully ready you to take the test by that point -- at least, I hope it would.
But do you mean that your college with accept
both the CLEP and the course for your degree, or
either? I can't imagine a college wanting you to take two classes called "Humanities." But who knows!

Many college especially four year schools have Humanities 1 and 2. Humanities 1 features art and music; Humanities 2 explores the many faces of imaginative literature. I tis not the same at every school but many schools have 1 and 2.

Wouldn't the Humanities CLEP cover both Humanities 1 and 2? Since it's a 6 credit course, that is...
Just a thought.
And I think the class should definitely prepare you for the CLEP. I remember the Humanities CLEP covering a lot more than just modern and post-modern.
Though I agree that maybe you could take the CLEP and skip the class all together. Depending on what you wanted to do, of course.

I need to check with my adviser tomorrow, but in the list of classes that are accepted for my AA it lists two different humanities as options. One, is the class that I will be taking at the school(hum2210) and the other is the clep humanities(which comes in as hum2250) I do not think that the humanities comes in as 6 credits at the school, I know when I took A & I literature it came in as 3 credits, even though its 6 credits with the college board.
