I was originally planning on taking both of these courses through SL, but the amount of quizzes/exams in each course is honestly making me second guess myself. My month subscription is up on 4/20 and I would also need to complete Intro to Communications before then. For those of you who have taken these courses through SL, how long did they take to complete? Are they as bad as they look (from the syllabus)? I'm wondering if I should take them both through Study.com instead. I still have a few other courses I need from them anyways.

My daughter (19) enjoyed this course and even though the exam count is high felt it wasn't too daunting. I took the class and felt it was a great course and the exam count is way over hyped - I enjoy the topic and might be bias on the enjoyment part. If this is the first run with Micro/Macro, the course is solid in teaching the information. If you are trying to work on speed as a deadline was mentioned - I would look for other options.
Communication is very doable in that timeframe.

No, the SL course is just too long with too many quizzes. Maybe it was because I already knew all the material, but it felt a little too saylor like in it's length. I would consider the CLEP if you are already familiar with the material or the study.com versions.
John Maynard Keynes called economics an apparatus of the mind, a technique of thinking - SL made it sleepy time, a cure for insomnia...

If you're pretty familiar with the material, you can do both via Saylor as well. One test and you're done.

Study.com: Personal Finance, Principles of Finance, HR Management, Global Business, Advanced Operations Management
Straighterline: US History 2, Environmental Science, US History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, English Comp 2, Principles of Management, Business Law, Business Ethics, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Accounting 1,Communication, Managerial Accounting, Statistics

I'm not familiar with the material at all... never taken an economics course. Study.com is looking like the winner at this point. Thanks for the help!

Plus there is the whole PRNow vs ProctorU - that makes me use Study.com over most other choices whenever possible.

Having used both SL & Study's proctoring services, I am well aware of their shorts-comings. Especially with ProctorU - crazy how an on the hour appointment can start 30min late more times than worth mentioning. It was something that I just worked around by clicking start and then enjoy a meal or used the time to study for another course. It assisted in keeping the situation positive no matter when they came on.
WGU uses Examity and I have really enjoyed the ease & flexibility (start times, change times & process).

60 questions in each of the 40 point graded exams? That's extreme overkill considering there are about 20 exams in each course. The other courses that I've taken with SL have only had 4 graded exams in addition to the midterm and final, but all 4 only had 25 questions each. Thanks for letting me know! I will definitley be avoiding these courses now!
