My last TECEP was taken in the September 2024 term, and to maintain my enrollment I was planning to enroll for one in the Sept 2025 term. But now I looked at the catalog and it says to maintain your enrollment you need to register for a course *before* the year is up. It's confusing language, because registration is different from taking a course, but ...
Will taking the tecep in the Sept 2025 term maintain my enrollment, or should I try to register for August 2025 (paying late registration fees as required)?

Registration for the Sept 25 term will happen before the Sept term, so should satisfy the requirement.

If you register after September 2025, you’d have to reapply and possibly face new degree requirements.

yes I know that. that's why I asked my question, which was about how "register" and "before" are defined by tesu. if you are trying to answer that question, it's not clear to me what your conclusion is.

I suggest getting the TECEP right away for Sept 2025, for the most part, there shouldn't be a late registration fee as registration just started 8/1. For some reason when I did mine a few years ago, I was never charged a late fee even though I registered late... I explained my situation to the registrar though, haha...
