Every change comes without warning to some degree. But since it doesn't affect current students, I think they're being as fair as one could reasonable expect.

Apparently this all was decided Wednesday but rumors started a week prior that the degree requirements were going to change starting Summer 1.  If you are currently enrolled you can request to do the old BBA plan but anyone who isn't enrolled and already had their Sophia/Straightliner/Saylor/Study classes transferred you have to do the new program.

The new program consists of 7-8 additional classes. So getting the BBA in one session is no longer possible. They also removed the "Information Systems" classes and title from the BBA concentration. So instead of BBA Project Management & Information Systems the degree will now be called BBA Project Management.

I have a feeling the BA Psych is going to be next.

Well actually it did effect current students. Everyone's plan was changed to the new plan. People had to request to go back to the old plan and those enrolled had to request to be changed back to the old BBA plan. UMPI did this with the Sophia changes last year. 

They would save themselves a headache with floods of calls and e-mails if they actually went about these changes in a more productive way and give notice and or send e-mails in advance.

That was not at all clear from the one jpg that was shared at the start of this thread, which said that current students are not effected. Thanks for clarifying.

Every year there are changes. That's not new. YourPace has been evolving especially since it moved off of the Strut Learning Platform into UMPI's control. Every year there's a new college catalog and that's when the changes happen. Changes should be expected. As programs grow, more changes take place. The world itself is changing at a rapid pace so courses need to change in degree programs. Five years ago it wasn't super common to see Change Management as a required course for a business degree. Today, it's become pretty standard. Why it took so long I don't know since busniess is constantly changing.

No one said change was new. Just informing everyone about these changes since UMPI didn't inform those who are not enrolled yet. There are some people who are currently completing Sophia/Study/Straighterline/Saylor courses for this degree.

YourPace is growing faster than they can seem to staff the courses. I see the Psychology degree getting a facelift next. UMPI will probably soon get away from the 1 session degrees and add classes to make a profit. I think these decisions have more to do with money than evolution. 

Still a good deal getting a Bachelor's degree for $3500.

I think most can accept a change happening. What is troubling is the way changes have been handled with UMPI. They seemingly make a change without an announcement or much time lead time for notice and then have to back track to allow students to have the catalog rights that they are entitled to.
