Here's the situation.... I am currently taking online Financial Acct@ Excelsior which is the prerequisite course for Managerial Acct for which there is no exam available. I am enrolled at Excelsior and was told there was an accelerated version of Managerial Acct starting July 5th. Well to my surprize

,they now are not offering that course until September. My business advertises with one of the Excelsior Business Partners so I am receiving discount but have to take 12 credits online with them. In reality it is a wash but wanted to learn some of Financial Acct the LONG way as my degree is BS Finance and wanted to retain some knowledge of a few courses to apply in my chosen field. LSU has put a hold on the Managerial Acct course they offer for this summer. Any suggestions where to take that class somewhere else online?

Search the forum for Penn Foster College. You'll find several threads talking about their Managerial Accounting course. It's four on-line tests and a proctored final exam, all open-book. It's self-paced, and it's entirely reasonable to finish it in a month or so. The final is not multiple choice -- it's short answer format, and quite challenging, mainly because of the time limit. But if you work through the course the way it's designed, you'll do fine. Oh, and it's around $185 including textbook and study materials.
Penn Foster College is nationally but not regionally accredited. However, many of their courses, including the Managerial Accounting course, are ACE-approved, and therefore accepted by Excelsior and other schools.

Thanks guys! You get on a roll with these exams, then when you have to take an actual class its a buzzkill. I'll check out my CC and Penn Foster. The Mississippi State Independent Study is $449 w/out books.
