I am new to this forum, I just signed up with Instantcert this morning and am glad that I did but I think I will still need additional online resources to help prep for my Micro CLEP. I have a text book but Im finding it to be a bit more complex than I anticipated.
Any additional "free" sites that anyone knows of that provide good study aid for Micro would be greately appreciated. I am taking notes as I read through my textbook but again, the textbooks are always packed with so much information its difficult to get the important basics and concepts understood. This book does not break each point down barney style for me and thats essentially what I need.

If you signed up for InstantCert (IC), you will have access to the specific forum feedback. You'll need to go back to the main forum page and you should see five categories listed. The specific forum feedback should be listed right below the "Off Topic" category. If you don't see it, you'll need some tech support.
The specific forum feedback will have a thread dedicated to each test and you will want to read through it carefully. Trust me, the IC cards + the feedback have been the main factor in passing my tests so quickly.
Other than those two resources, my next favorite site is free-clep-prep.com. They have a link to free practice tests and other no-cost study options for each test.
For Micro, I also used youtube lectures. I had a hard time grasping the graphs and needed visuals. Just go to youtube and search for what you're looking for. You'll find some boring lectures, so just click out of those. With a very little bit of searching, you'll stumble across great ones. I am sure that people list out their favorites in the specific forum area too.

I am good at self-teaching, but there are certain subjects that I just couldn't learn from reading IC and Wikipedia.
YouTube - KylePurpuraLCS's Channel is the one I used a lot for the econ lectures. If you ever take Principles of Finance, you'll also want to bookmark
MBAbullshit.com (sorry it's a tacky name for a great site)
Khan academy is another youtube lecture series that is amazing. Khan covers so many different topics and is amazing.
What I love about youtube is that you get to choose your professor. If you like their explanation and it makes sense to you then keep watching, if you don't like them, you don't have to finish! Just keep searching until you find your perfect teacher!

Good good stuff. That youtube channel is wonderful. I was on there watching someone else when you gave me this and this is much better; like being in the classroom. I am one class away from a degree and I sure did pick one hell of a subject to CLEP. Im kicking myself for choosing this one but if I bombard myself enough I will get the hang of it. Thanks for the very resourceful links. They are a gold mine!

You're welcome. Don't worry. You CAN do this. IC, Youtube and Specific Forum IS really enough to pass this one. I studied for maybe a week. Trust me I am not the smartest when it comes to economics, even though I really enjoy the topic (macro was the only test I've ever taken and failed), but this is doable if you stick to it. If you are that close then why not consider a couple of other options that could greatly improve your odds?
Straighterline teaches Microeconomics, $99 a month + $39 per course. The Big 3 generally accept it directly, but you could take the course and then the CLEP test if you need to.
Alternately there are distance learning courses available that can transfer in. Looks like
Indiana State has some this summer but not sure of the cost.
LSU has one for $364. Google turns up
a bunch more possibilities.

Passed the CLEP Microeconomics today with a score of 60. Studied the IC flashcards for four months and the Cliff's AP Micro/Macro book. But I think the most valuable thing I did was take all three Peterson's practice tests and print them out afterward. Then I went over the test questions I missed again and again.
Done with Macro and Micro; on to accounting, which will be the last CLEP test I need.
