Modern States Pass Rate
#1
Just got an email saying their pass rate is 77%:

Dear Learners,
With back to school season in full swing, now is a great time to begin a new course or finish up one you’ve already started on ModernStates.org.
It’s an exciting time for our organization as we celebrate our one-year anniversary. We set out with a mission of helping make college more affordable and more accessible and thanks to learners like you, it’s becoming a reality.
From working parents to high school and college students, people of all ages and backgrounds are turning to Modern States. In fact, more than 5,500 learners have taken CLEP (College Level Examination Program) exams paid for by Modern States. Of those, 4,208 have earned free college credit by passing the tests — that's a 77 percent pass rate!
If you’re interested in taking a course but not sure what to choose, here’s what’s trending: With over 30 courses, there's something for everyone and with no fees, essays to write or other barriers to entry, learning with Modern States is just one click away.
Thanks for making the first year great, keep on taking courses and telling your friends about Modern States, and remember, we’re rooting for you to succeed.
The Modern States Team

Thanks for sharing! I'm currently taking their Macroeconomics class. I ordered the official CLEP test book for $6 used. I've never taken one before; I figure it can't be harder than the other classes and credits I've taken.

Some CLEPS can be passed with just the Modern States' resources. I was able to pass the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Analyzing and Interpreting Literature tests (the only CLEPs I've taken to date) using only their lecture videos and practice tests. They also provide supplemental e-textbooks. It's a great resource for those on a tight budget.

I squeaked by on that one using MS and the Crash Course, with a little ACDC Econ thrown in.
