My Journey: BA in English from TESU
#91
My son is looking to get his BA English from TESU. He just graduated from high school but has his associates through dual credit. I''m following this!

I've been a little worried about handling the grad-level HE poetry courses along with my other grad program, but it will work out. It could be a tough couple of weeks before the essays are due. Unless time is tight, I will try for A's.

@Clepper43 and others following: There are only a few more days to enroll in the Harvard Extension poetry courses (with a late fee). They may not be offering more Poetry in America courses at this low rate. They can be taken at graduate level for UL English credit at TESU. If they are taken at the undergrad level, one or both may not come in as UL. The courses started earlier this week.

The summer school course listing for HES just came out and there is 1 PIA course offered, but the cost went up slightly to $250 before the $50 registration fee.  The course is the same one offered last summer, ENGL S-300 The City from Whitman to Hip Hop.  It was an excellent class, I took it last summer.  I have enjoyed all of the courses, with the exception of the first half of the From Mayflower to Emerson Course.  Apparently, Puritan Poetry is not my thing.  I got a solid A in the class, though, so I probably shouldn't complain.

I have score an A, A- and A- in the three classes I took. I took that one last summer and the two this past fall. I am in the two for this semester as well. It is funny that you mention the Puritan poetry because I wrote my paper in that class about Anne Bradstreet and it was my best work in any of the classes.

I also got 2 A- and 1 solid A in the classes.

I really liked Anne Bradstreet.  The other Puritan writers featured? Not so much!  I did my paper in that class on Longfellow.

Great! Maybe there will be Fall courses!

I'll have to prepare myself for A- grades.

My son is doing it also. Pretty interesting so far and the videos seem well done!

Did you mean the 2019 summer listing? I couldn't find it. Do you have a link?

Hopefully they add the assignment(s) and get it approved by ACE. My guess is that it will take until June or later.

Would you consider posting or sharing your degree plan? We were just discussing the idea of adding computer science to my son's English degree. Thanks!

Me or hsfamfun? I'd like to take the summer course, but did not see it either. I won't register for a few months anyway.

I'm also hoping they repeat the 2 fall courses, but have no idea if this is planned.

I have a CompSci thread, but I have no degree plan. Most of us are doing the same CompSci courses because we want self-paced and cheap, but most of us don't have a complete plan because Study.com doesn't have Data Structures yet.

My current plan is to drop the English major. I'd like to do English, but I want Biology and CS more.

I still plan to take the Coopersmith exam since it's cheap UL credits.

I'm a little worried about how much time and energy the Harvard Extension poetry course essays will take, depending on what other courses I have going on. But I should be able to get B's if I'm pressed for time.
