I studied for about a week and passed American Government with a 61. I used a lot of what people posted on this site to help guide me and I only used online information sources to create a study guide. I did the peterson's practice exams and the flash cards on IC after I read over a bunch of information and did fine. Some people said there was math on the exam but I didn't see any. There was not much on the court cases but you need to know the main ones. As for the Amendments, know them by heart and be able to use them abstractly as opposed to just knowing a sentence about them. Know ideologies, especially liberalism and conservatism inside and out and other similar ideologies. That is where the test tries to trick you. Anyways, here is my study guide, it has almost all of the information you will need to know to get through the exam. Sorry if I missed some stuff but I'm sure other people will add on to help guide you. I attached my Study Guide as a three separate documents. There are important charts you will need in there so download all of them and Good luck!

You should have posted this about 1 month ago. Although the study guide looks very helpful, I voted not helpful because I took it last month. Great study guide though for those who haven't taken it yet.

Nice. I have just started looking into taking this exam. I took 2 out of the 3 free tests at the in.gov site and got a 65 on both of them - not bad without any previous studying, right? I'll use the guide and see if it helps get me over the passing edge. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

I just took and passed the AG exam this morning(my first ever CLEP exam). GREAT study guide. I used only this guide and spent about a solid 6 hours total the last 2 nights. If you know this study guide you will pass... i think.
