I took my first two Cleps this morning and I failed A&I Lit with a 45 but passed my Spanish Clep with a 74 hilarious. I was sooo disappointed when I got my first score back and it definitely took my confidence away a bit. I thought maybe I was just biting more than I could chew but those 12 credits I got afterwards made me feel much better. Going forward I'm hoping I am better prepared and not let the time or anything else distract me. I will celebrate my victory and not let the other test discourage my journey.

Most of us end up failing at least one credit by exam before we hit our groove. It's part of the learning curve. I failed my very first CLEP - English Composition w/ Essay. I remember getting a 45. It was crazy, because I am a good writer, so I was mystified how I might have failed.
And congrats on the Spanish CLEP!
But don't give up on your dream of earning an inexpensive degree! Many of us have done it, and we went through the same struggles you are now experiencing. Just keep at it, and don't be afraid to ask for help when needed.
Good luck.

You have the right attitude…and you DID pass one of the CLEP's. Now you know you have to put in some study time, but usually not even 1/2 of the amount of time you would have to if you were taking a traditional class at a brick and mortar college.
Keep up the good work, better practices and positive attitude,
Tara

I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. Just add that to experience and beginners jitters. 2nd time is a charm. Keep at it.
