I'm going for Occupational Therapy and I got accepted to NYU and I have an interview for LIU...should I just skip the interview and just go to NYU or should I go to the interview, which makes me write an essay on the spot? If I get accepted to LIU too I'll still need to make the decision. Does anyone know which school is better?

US News puts NYU at 33rd for national universities and 9th for OT programs, while LIU is unranked for national universities, 117th for OT programs (Brooklyn campus).

Hey girl,
NYU is a great school. I went there for my M.A. in dance education. I went to the Steinhardt School of Education. There are so many divisions of the school, it's great to be educated in one school of thought. I endorse my alma mater because NYU is a great school! Great to be in NYC. How invigorating! Congratulations on your acceptance!

I live in Brooklyn, LIU is pretty much a joke. NYU is much higher regarded, but I believe it costs an arm and a leg.

An $8k difference for just one year is astounding to me. When it's all said and done, I'm not planning on spending more than $8k for my AA, BA and possible Master's altogether :willynilly:

Thanks everyone!
For my undergrad bachelors I paid $500 per credit for a total of $36,000. I applied for financial aid and got $9,000 altogether. For my masters I found out LIU costs $100,000 (I'm not sure about NYU) I plan on taking out loans since my parents aren't paying for it and I don't work...I'm grateful for them paying for undergrad
So should I skip my interview for LIU or just go for it just in case because it's cheaper? On the other hand, like bawhitsett mentioned, NYU is better according to USN?

My older sister went to CW Post and although it seemed to be a very good school, I don't think it could compare to NYU. I am sure NYU would look much better on a resume and although $8000 more a year is a lot, I think it's not that big a deal in the scheme of things when you're saying that school will cost $100,000. My younger sister (much younger, she is 21)is planning to go to NYU for graduate school next year. Good luck with whatever you decide. I wish I had your drive when I was your age and finished school on time. I went for two years and dropped out and I am now trying to earn my BA at 40!!
