Yes Obama did wait a while, he even pushed the UN to hold back.
He did not ask or even inform congress about the action until the war had already started.
I'm not being critical of him. I think he did the right thing, but I know if the exact same actions were taken by a republican the mainstream media would be all over it as an abuse of presidential power and project pink, moveon.org and the like would be funding protests and busing people to DC.
Its a lot easier to go to war with other nations when you have a democrat president.

It's funny because there's a Youtube video of Joe Biden before he was VP saying if Bush invades Iraq he would say it was unconstitutional and vote to impeach him. Does anyone mention that now? Hmm...
