Iam taking this test next Tuesday. Ihave taken the practice tests available thru Barron's and have scored in the 45 range. I need to pass this "less the fun " course as it is one of two I have left to graduate. Iam having the worst time getting comfortable and in the groove studying. I need the answer, if there exists one , as to how to get this show together and pass this class. Tricks, ideas, suggestions ..all are welcomed.
Thanks, Ron

I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET MY CHUBBY 'LIL BUTT IN GEAR FOR THE NATURAL SCIENCE EXAM.

Just something to think about my friend. The NS exam IS 50% Biology with the other 50% comprising of Chemistry, Geology, Astrology, and Physics. I know that I passed NS because I took Biology FIRST and then boned up on the other stuff and passed NS too.
My point being here is that for all intent-and-purposes here you will have to master ALL FIVE science disciplines for the NS exam rather than JUST ONE if you sit the Biology exam. They're both 6 credits exams; and if you can do Bio and then leap frog into NS that's 12 BIG CREDITS.
Again, just something to think about. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I took this CLEP yesterday and scored a 55. At my college, this gets you 8 semester hours total credit = 4 for Biology & 4 for Physical Science. I spent a total of 12 hours preparing over the course of a long weekend. I was pretty good in Science, but I didn't realize how much I had forgotten until I started studying. Remember, this is not easy stuff and on the exam, the questions were harder than I expected. That being said, it can be done.
Resources I used:
Peterson's CLEP Success (too detailed at times, worth consulting)
InstantCert Biology (a lot to digest, but very useful!)
REA Natural Sciences (has all general subject exams - worth the $$)
Cracking the CLEP (same as REA - worth the $$)
InstantCert GED Science (very basic, but good starting point)
I would suggest taking the tests provided by the above methods in a timed atmosphere and then going back and grading it. Reviewing what you missed and then do a retest the next day to see what you've retained. As for InstantCert, you can get a great deal of insight with the Biology section. You should take notes on key things (cell division, etc.) referring back to the CLEP outline on what's covered on the test. I know Biology is important to this test, but you need to have good knowledge of the solar system, the atmosphere, rocks (sedimentary, igneous, & metamorpic) & how they're formed, elements - halogens, alkali metals, noble gases, etc. I prepared in 4 day. That's pretty chancy, so I would suggest 2 weeks if you have the time.
