Hi all, I need help! I recently graduated from TESU with my bachelors in History. I took the social studies praxis and passed, and was planning on becoming a history teacher. THEN, a job in the music department opened up. I started out as a Music Ed major when I first began my undergrad, and would much prefer to teach music. I took the Music praxis and passed. I have 48 credits in music. My problem is, the CE requirements in NJ state that at least 12 credits must be upper level (junior, senior, or graduate) and I only have 5 credits at the 300 level or higher. So my question is, what is the quickest and cheapest way that I can get the remaining 7 upper level music credits needed for the CE so I can land this job before September? Currently my plan is to complete prior learning assessment portfolio's through TESU, but I am wondering if anyone knows of any quicker or cheaper ways I can go about this. Thank you in advance for any and all insight!

You could check whether the courses/exams at CooperSmith and Genesis Univeristy could work for your purpose, and apply for the BA in Music at TESU to get them on a transcript.
CooperSmith is NCCRS credit, which Thomas Edison usually accepts and it's around $150 for the exam. TESU also confirmed for my son that they accept credit from Genesis (which is both nationally accredited and NCCRS).
You would need to verify that the courses are available and within in the timeframe that you need. Genesis classes are usually around an 8 week timeframe, at $60/credit.
Here are some of the options from a quick search on the NCCRS website:
CooperSmith - The Music of the Orthodox Jew from Antiquity through the Twentieth Century (MUS-301)
CooperSmith - Music Therapy (PSY-460)
CooperSmith - Music Education (ECE-302)
Genesis University - Jewish Music (MUS 400)
Genesis University - Music and Movement (ECE 312)
For options under TESU PLA review, you can search their database here:

What's your budget? You may want to take some upper level classes at one of the RA institutions in Canada. Capilano, SFU, TRU, and see if they have anything online, as the Canadian dollar is lower than before, it may be a deal. Unless of course, you can find another RA institution that has inexpensive upper level classes, I would check the WiKI for obscure credits and also sources of credit to review your options as well...

Under Area of Study in the link above, there are some suggestions for UL classes. Only Coopersmith's The Music of the Orthodox Jew is UL in TESU. The other 2 Coopersmith music courses were considered LL in TESU.

Hmm, getting an error using your link, as that's trying to edit the page. I think the plan you're referring to is this:
