Need Advice
#21
Has anyone taken courses at Striaghterline without a text book? I am thinking about taking either english I and using instant cert and google to study/ help with tests. I was also wondering about College Algebra. Do I really need a book for that class? I really want to get a course underway till my books for Accouting I and II and Macroeconomics comes in. I feel like I am wasting my time when I dont have anything education wise to do.

I'm AF and I deployed to a podunk FOB w/ about 75 people total, over half infantry, in the middle of nowhere in northeast Afghanistan. Only way to take any kind of test, or do anything really, would have been to have the commander deem someone not mission-essential for at least 7 days or more due to the ring route schedules and the general chaos that is Bagram. And hope the helo doesn't break while you fob-hop to Bagram and back. There's lots of ground-pounders who are SOL when deployed on things like this, unfortunately.

And massive kudos to OP for putting in the effort to overcome the obstacles in his way. :patriot:

.... Of course TESC is migrating to online test proctoring using webcams. Wonder if you would get counted off if the proctor sees you dive under your table when some jerkhole tosses a battery in the burn pit? :roflol:

hilarious good point. I just want to take Straighterline courses. Since I have not gotten any replies I guess no one has taken one of the courses they offer without a textbook. I will have to wait :ack:

My books will be here sometime on or around July 14th. Which is terrible but I guess it will do. I just finished my Microeconimics course at AMU and got a 96%. Good enough for me. If only my astronomy class came as easy as Microeconomics for me. I am hoping to get an A but I do not know if it will happen, the course is quite challenging.

Anyone know when Straighterline will open its new coming soon courses?
