Okay, under my post in the test results thread I gave some advice that was flawed.....didn't notice that there weren't flash cards for that subject. I took those tests before I knew about this site.

I can tell you that if you are a fairly regular reader that you shouldn't find the test to be completely overwhelming. Like I said in the other thread, you read a passage, then answer 4 or 5 questions. If you read at an average speed, you shouldn't have any problems with time.

Think back to high school poetry and literature. Did you have issues understanding stuff? Obviously some stuff is easier to interpret, like:

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate."

Doesn't take a genius to take the meaning as "Babe, you're totally smokin'!"

Understand that some may seem easy, but some passages require a highly intellectual analysis. Don't let that shake you, just don't waste a lot of time on the questions that you just "don't get".

Another thing - As I stated in another post, check your local and school libraries for the books that cost a fortune, such as Barron's and Peterson's CLEP books. They usually have a cd included that has practice tests. I used the Barron's two practice tests and came out fine. Don't want to sound cocky about my ability to interpret, but I seemed to have a grasp of it before the real test by my practice test scores, but I will say that it was most valuable in learning the format and style of the test. I also sometimes read the questions before I read the passage and found that some questions were more easily answered when I knew what to look for before reading the passage.

I hope this helps. Cool
