New EC Website
#1
So, what does everyone think about the new EC website? It's certainly different... I dunno if I like it yet or not. The tabs are kinda neat, but it feels too easy to get lost or sidetracked in there.

But on the plus side, the link to Josten's offers a lot more ring styles than they've offered recently... I'd almost regret the one I got from Durham, if the Jostens ones weren't twice the price with the only real difference being that they'll put the EC globe logo on the ring.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Its inside. You have to log into MyExcelsior and go to the Bookstore & More page to get to the link.

I'm not sure it is as user friendly, although it appears to provide easier access to more info. than the old site. I can't find the graduation status info. though. I just don't trust them and want to make sure they don't change my graduation status without informing me! LOL!

ROFL I was actually looking for the exact same thing. This 18 days to go is killing me... (partially because I want my diploma and partially because I have to provide the school I'm going to start teaching at in January my degree information... Sigh... No, its mainly because I want my diploma.. :p)

Too funny! At least we know their weaknesses! If you find it please let me know. Congrats on teaching! I welcome another teacher into the professional any day! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I'm very anxious too, just because I want to be done with EC. All told I paid student service fees for over 10 years to keep current and in the nursing program. Since I finished so quickly now, I really kick myself for spending so much money. That is why I'm looking so forward to finally being done. The only bright side is my BSHS had the enrollment fee waived and since I did multiple degrees back to back with them I got a break on my fees, so I got some of that money back, but not all of it! I really wish I had known about this forum all those years ago.

I cannot find the graduation status option for the life of me.. Go figure.

I will say that (for the most part) the improved course search option is pretty good. I don't like the fact that they've stopped showing options involving the partner schools - but they may just be updating all the offerings for the database, as a lot of what used to be listed either wasn't being offered, changed, or the course price changed. With a few tweaks though, that thing could be really nice. I don't like the fact that you seem to have to uncheck the section eligible selections by hand (which I may have missed a toggle, I only played with it for a few minutes).

As far as the teaching gig, I'm just adjuncting at a B&M college that's near where I work. I'm young (not very) and I need the money. ROFL

I like it. The new design has a sleek and clean style which also looks good on a notebook screen. Finding that the navigation is easier than the previous system (which a user normally gets familiar with) is a definite indication of improvement.

Always thought the orangeness had that mid-90s feel to it for some reason.

Also, congrats to the graduants Smile

I found the graduation status info! It is now located in the graduation and beyond tab. I know we aren't crazy because it was NOT there when the site first popped up. My guess is they forgot about including it and someone told them it needed added. The info is still there and correct! Whoo-Hoo!

I for one LOVE the new site. I don't know how many times I've lamented the clutter of the MyEC page. When I saw they were upgrading it, I hoped it would look as good as the preview picture. IMO, it looks even better.

EC - Keeping up with the times.
