New to Forum:GRE PSYCH Story: FUNNY? Also Adoncia passyourclass Q
#11
Hi Adoncia,

Many many thanks for the passyourclass DSST Drugs & Alcohol info. Just printed it out... Will use with the Incert stuff. One other Q, I probably have to take the ECE College Writing exam. (if I never took AP English test many moons ago); and did a search on "College Writing". Came up with some info where you were querying & mentioned certain classics. Was this for the English Composition (6 credits) or for the College Writing (3 credits).

I have the ECE College Writing fact sheets and examples and nothing like this is mentioned so really really need to clarify --

Again thank you so much for kind quick response -- I'm sure this will help a lot
Best wishes

Hi Barbara,
I took the ECE College Writing exam last month and got an A.
I was really nervous about this one as English is not my first language. The exam is not bad at all. I used the fact sheet and IC threads to know what to expect. There are three essays and time allowed is 3 hours. The essays were simple topics.
If you need to take this exam you should go ahead. I expected B or C as I thought my essays were not good enough, so I was very happy with my result.
You will not really need anything to prepare other than the myaccess tool, which is invaluable.
Good Luck,
Adoncia

I scored a 590 on the GRE. I only studied for 3 weeks, using only the Princeton Review "Cracking the GRE Psychology" book recommended at bain4weeks.com. My biggest problem is that I ran out of time. I ended up leaving about 30 questions blank. It doesn't really help to guess either because there is a .25 point deduction for each wrong answer. Anyway, I ended up getting 9LL credits. Not bad for less than 4 weeks of studying from one source, however I know that I could have achieved that magic 80th percentile with more time to study. I would have needed another source though. bain4weeks.com claims that the Princeton Review book is enough to score in the 80th percentile. Maybe it was when that site was written but not now.
