I have 12 credits left and must finish by November, 2009. Please advise which is the easiest CLEP/DANTES to begin with. I have never taken any type of test list this so I want to get into this with the least amount of pain....

Thanks,
Frances

The Principles of Management CLEP is one that I consider the easiest. Same with Principles of Supervision on the DANTES side. Either would be easy to prepare for, and there's enough overlap that you could take the other immediately following provided your college would count them as separate electives.

That does lead into the next question though: What kind of credits do you need? Upper? Lower? Arts and Sciences? Applied Professional? If it's just 12 "anything" credits, then that makes this pretty simple. If not, then you'll need to do a little more planning.

No problem. Take a look at Principles of Marketing too, as well as anything with "Introductory" in front of the name (with the exception of business law  )

Read the exam specific feedback thread for each, use the IC flashcards, and you'll easily hit that November timeframe. 12 elective credits is hardly an obstacle!

Agreed!! My kids tooK Principles of Management, DSST Supervision and DSST Intro to Business in 6 weeks. 9 credits in 6 weeks and the hardest part was the first exam because neither of them had worked in the corporate world so they lacked the lingo. Once they overcame that we were on a roll.

What are your interests? You may have background in an area that makes a particular exam easy.

A & I lit by far. If you can read and comprehend the new york times you'll pass with flying colors and bank 6 easy humanities credits.

There are no flashcards for A & I lit. It is a reading comprehension test.

Depending on where you're xfering in your test score will determine if they require an essay. Every college is different.

If you wanna practice and get a feel for what I am talking about, search the site for "free petersons" and take a freebie practice test. That'll give you a good idea of what you're up against.

Hi Frances,

Congrats on being only 12 credits from your degree. I'd recommend A & I lit for 6 credits. Introduction to Sociology and Here's to your Health were also easy and fun to study for. As the others said, IC and knowing the things mentioned on the exam specific thread will really help. Good luck!
