You will probably have to check with them, they are fairly new and don't have many students, I don't remember details about their classes and transfers being discussed anywhere.

While it is not directly comparable due to number of reasons, it is amazing they built this on a shoestring budget - I have learned about Kickstarter campaign where they raised $30k to get accredited, whereas eg. UoPeople received a grant of $600k for the same.
One interesting thing is price is $1500 for those with AA degree, I thought AA degree in US system is not meant as a stair climbed after which one can continue with bachelors, thought one still needs to apply for credit recognition towards bachelors and only some credits might count, not whole AA degree...

Most often, a bachelor's program will require an associate's holder to transfer each credit on a credit-by-credit basis in which some credits might not count. However, some bachelor's programs allow "block transfer" by which an entire associate's degree is accepted in transfer (even if every credit in the associate's might not otherwise be accepted independently at that bachelor's school). Sometimes where this block transfer is available it's available only for an AA or AS, not for an occupational associate's such as an AAS or AOS.

Basically, AA, AS, are the stair climber degrees where you ladder into a BA, BS major easily. It's the AAS and other applied degrees that are generally a terminal degree for the student to start working right afterwards. Due to the nature of these degrees, the classes generally aren't transferable, having said that, there are many BAS and other BA/BS degrees that have at least 30 credits that are electives (which can be anything), thus, you can just throw those non transfer friendly classes into that electives section and continue onwards with the Bachelors!

I just had the call with the Admission Specialist - while I LOVE the concept and mission of this school, to be perfectly honest it doesn't look like a reputable institution, not just yet at least.
A few red flags I spotted: - They didn't ask for any proof whatsoever of my prior academic background, no High School Graduation diploma, no college transcripts (although I can send that in for credit transfers). - Self evaluation assessments aside, the "exams" are basically open book multiple choice questions, and the oral assessment is open book as well. - The admissions specialist was friendly but the approach was very "salesman"-y. 10 minutes tops and I got the acceptance letter. Again, no verifications, just create an account and pay the admissions fee ($249). Yes it's dirt cheap, and it may be a great option for someone looking to speedrun a degree, but this time I really wanted to deep dive in Philosophy and I don't know if actual learning is the focus here. Plus honestly from the few videos I watched of the platform there doesn't seem to be any original material either, just links to outside resources and YT videos. I may be wrong about this though. I was very excited, now I'm kinda reconsidering. If I wanted another fruitless (knowledge-wise) degree I'd have applied to ENEB.

Let me address a few of your concerns as a current student. This is a small and newer University, so it's virtually unknown institution.

A degree from Newlane will certainly work as a checkbox degree for working adults.

Update here, I transferred in about 90 credits after completing two courses to see whether I liked it or not.
Suprisingly so, I enjoy thier set up and am about to complete thier degree. Ares is completely correct in terms of Newlane being a good checkbox degree. I fowarded the university to my HR department and stated to me that if I completed a bachelors at Newlane; I'd still be eligible for a promotion upon completion as its accredited. That being said, I still wish to complete a UMPI and my state college degree's in my signature, but I am looking to complete something much quicker with a smaller price point and newlane does exactly that.

Cool, Newlane's a newish NA institution, I was rooting for them and Nexford to get DEAC as both were ASIC before they were granted DEAC. Hopefully there are newer NA players that have similar pricing as the few that I like from DEAC. Their institutions all have a main target that are blended/distance or online education for those either out of country, out of state, or want something entirely online...
