Other Schools Accepting Alt Credit
#1
Has anyone out there got a school outside of the big 3 or partner schools to accept ACE or NCCRS credits? What I mean by partner schools is any school listed on the sdc, sophia, sl, etc partner pages. Also, I'm not talking about CLEP, DSST or TECEP but specifically ACE and NCCRS here.

Anyone luck with any outside school? Please let me know your experiences. If you can tell me the school and course(s) you were able to transfer.

My job’s tuition assistance program heavily pushes Brandman and Bellevue and lets us all know we can get reimbursed for ACE credit if we are enrolled in either school. No personal experience with either though.

My main three target schools all accept ACE credits; none of them are part of the Big 3.

Even outside of my chosen schools of interest, I've run accross others that accept ACE (and one I think accepts NCCRS). None of these are Big 3 schools either.

Keep in mind that while other schools may accept ACE credits, it's also common to see a limit on the amount of non-traditional credits that can be brought into a degree plan. I've seen both 30 and 60 credits used as the limit during my searches.

That means you have to supplement with either RA or NA credit - if your chosen school accepts NA.

Some, but not all, of my target schools will accept NA; likewise for the "others" I mentioned.

The downside is that none of the schools I'm referencing will allow the total amount of credits to be transferred in that the Big 3 do. All of them have a residency requirement of 30 credits that must be completed at their university.

That's pretty much the standard practice once you step outside of the Big 3.

That's a non-issue for me as the Big 3 don't offer the major(s) I'm considering; however, that could be an issue for BSBA/BALS seekers.

May I ask what schools are you considering?

Anyone know if Central State University accepts Ace or NCCRS? My buddy has the ability to earn his bachelor's for free through Central State through his work and I was mentioning the alt credit services I used.

Here is a list from ACE themselves: https://www2.acenet.edu/crm/cup/

The list provides links to the universities' own policies. However, I couldn't find much solid support for accepting ACE credits in the two universities that I looked into (Syracuse and Penn State). You can take a look around and see what might be interesting to you, then reach out to the university itself with the contact information that is usually provided in this ACE list.

Sadly, that list is not worth much.  Most will not take anything.  Only one of the Big 3 is even listed. Sad

Cambridge College will take up to 90 ACE credits (60 lower/ 30 upper). New England College will gladly take both ACE & NCCRS - I don't think there's a limit (30 minimum in residency)

WGU will accept up to 90 credits in transfer and all of it can be ACE. They don't accept NCCRS, but they do accept NA college credits, unlike most RA schools.

Of course, to qualify for and maintain enrollment you need to live in the US.
