They are not actually free. Basically, if you are earning a bachelor's at one of those schools, you can  ask to have any associate's degree they offer added to your program, as long as you are meeting all the requirements of the associates on your way to the bachelor's then it is no extra cost or "free".

That's correct, and then there are the 'freebie' certificates as well in addition to the 'freebie' associates!
