Per Credit Tuition Plan
it mentions
Quote:Enrollment Grace Period
All students are provided a thirty day grace period at the end of their current year of service. For example if their enrollment date is August 2, 2015 they have a thirty day grace period that ends on September 1, 2015.
does this mean, when i enroll for per-credit option, i have 1 year to complete my degree? failing that, i have to re-enroll?

For each tuition plan you must pay an annual fee. The benefit of enrolling under the PPC plan is you only need take at minimum 1 TECEP or course per year to continue enrollment.
Refer to the following thread for details http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...ement.html
You might also want to google pay per credit tuition plan site:degreeforum.net and read through the threads; it's an excellent, cost effective option.

Thanks.
So. Just to confirm my understanding, from this page:
Thomas Edison State College: Fees
new enrollment must pay (for per-credit plan)
- Application fee
- Course registration fee
and when you graduate
- Graduation fee (when you graduate)
- Transcript fee
However I am not sure which is the annual fee...
Thanks again.

Current 2014-2015* Catalog (07/14-06/15). Under the PPC if you take a TECEP the cost is $111 (out of state), that would be your annual enrollment/course registration fee. If you are taking an actual course-OL/GS/epack the current fee is $491/credit. The plan is per credit, so you are paying for the course only. Of course there is also a residency requirement for this plan.
Most take 7 TECEPS at $111ea plus the capstone comes to approx $2250 (current catalog). Thrifty students then tailor a program to include transferring in any existing credits, adding low cost courses and or exams to create an affordable RA degree.
In comparison, Enrolled Options and Comprehensive plans do not have a residency requirement but each has a different price structure. Check the website if you want to compare pricing.
Hopefully you now have a better understanding? It is explained thoroughly in forum threads (there is even a price comparison spreadsheet in my signature). Please take some time to research fully before making a decision. If you have not yet applied, use the 2015-2016 pricing.
Good luck!
*2015-2016 TECEPs $150 (OOS) and courses $525/credit.

Thanks.
Next question.
I see from this link:
Thomas Edison State College: Non-Enrolled Student Tuition
Non enrolled students (OOS) also pays the same USD 50 per credit for TECEP.
So my next question would be, if I do my 24 credits BEFORE I enroll, would that satisfy the residency requirement?
a. do 24 TECEP credits.
b. enroll and no need to get 24 credits to satisfy the residency requirement.
c. graduate
or
a. do 24 TECEP
b. to satisfy the residency requirement, do another 24 TECEP, because they only count after you enroll
c. graduate
thanks.

Have you read any of the PPC tuition plan threads?
If you enroll under the PPC plan, registering for a TECEP is enrolling. You complete 24 credits by taking either 8 TECEPS or 7 TECEPS and one course (if degree requires capstone). Complete all other degree requirements and graduate.
Not sure what else I can say about this. Do a bit of reading up.

The website is a bit confusing. It looks like the non enrolled student and Pay per credit tuition is the same for the 2015-2016. Are you asking about taking TECEPS as a non-matriculated student (meaning you have not applied to the college) and then applying and the enrolling?
If you apply to TESC, meet all of the requirements and they accept you, then you are considered an applicant. You can remain an applicant for up to 6 months or 1 year for corporate choice program. After that period of time if you do not enroll as a student then your application is tossed and you must reapply. When you are an applicant (accepted student but not enrolled) one way of enrolling is registering for a TESC course or TECEP. If you choose that method then you automatically become an enrolled student 10 days after the TECEP or course semester begins. Once you are enrolled student your enrollment lasts for 12 months and you do not have to take another course or TECEP until your enrollment period ends. If you choose the other tuition choices then you become an enrolled student once you pay the tuition fee. For the comprehensive tuition plan you pay one fee for the year which covers up to 36 credits. If you choose the enrolled options plan then you pay an enrollment fee which enrolls you for one year, then you pay for each class based on the current rate for that tuition plan. The advantage to the enrolled options plan is that you can pay the enrollment fee and then graduate, it does not require residency credits like the per credit tuition plan.

I went through the website and read about the plans but I got confused. I sent an email to TESC and they advised me to enroll and I will be locked in, and the changes taking effect from July 1st wont affect my degree plan but I have to apply before July 1st. What if I don't enroll and just take exams then transfer credits at a later date, will this affect my degree?

Learning,
Are you referring to the degree plan changes or to the tuition plans changes. The original OP is talking about the tuition plan and changes. For the degree plan changes, if you apply before July 1st, it is my understanding that you will be using the degree plan as listed in the 2014 to 2015 catalog. If you apply on July 1st or after then you will be using the new degree plans which in some cases are drastically different. I was looking at the 2015-2016 BA CJ program and it is way different then the previous requirements. I personally prefer the current 2014-2015 degree plans. I'm not really too familiar with the tuition plans and the various policies. I am currently enrolled in the per credit plan.

I was referring to both but I think it will be good for me to apply and pay the $75 to be locked in the 2014-2015 catalog. Don't like the new changes in my degree plan.
