it's pretty similar to ProctorU, but it seems to be a quicker/easier startup process

I've only used Examity once (CSU Global) and they had way less hours available than ProctorU and definitely took longer for the startup process for me.

really? i've had the exact opposite experience. I've used them a couple times recently, and a lot when i was at Patten. I could get same-day exams within a couple hours if I wanted. and They have me taking my exam within 5 minutes of connecting to a proctor.

Oh nice, I guess it just depends on the proctor you get like with ProctorU (never had any bad experiences there...overslept for an exam one time, but they still let me take it free later on).

My son got the same proctor today as yesterday, and it was even worse. The guy made him go through extra steps and some sort of identity confirming quiz he never had to do before, and then he kept telling him to turn his monitor to the right - my son said "the cord isn't long enough to keep turning it around" (it's in an armoire and not easy to move) - took 45 minutes again to get started.
Here Researching for my son, who has done the following:
Community College: Intro to Philosophy, Fundamentals of IT, English Comp 1
Saylor: Intro to Business, Principles of Marketing, Corporate Communication
Shmoop: US History 2 (WGU won't accept this)
ALEKS: Int. Algebra, College Algebra
Study.com: Personal Finance, Principles of Finance, HR Management, Global Business, Advanced Operations Management
Straighterline: US History 2, Environmental Science, US History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, English Comp 2, Principles of Management, Business Law, Business Ethics, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Accounting 1,Communication, Managerial Accounting, Statistics
Ed4Credit: Managing Information Systems
Sophia: Project Management
WGU: Bachelors in HR Management
Second son is currently attending Penn Foster for his high school diploma, then on to Ashworth for An Associates in Criminal Justice

Wow, I'm sorry. Hopefully he won't encounter proctors like these in Examity!

Was there a change made to ProctorU? Wow, I don't remember this type of nonsense...
I'm going to start with Study.com after my Saylor and Straighterline courses are done...
Anyone remember if Study.com uses SoftwareSecure or is it RPNow? I forget...

Last time I used them it took they were over 10 min late and took 20 more to get past all the setup.questions. It's why I changed as much as possible from SL to Study.com, now only the Saylor courses on my list will require them (3 more of those, maybe 4)

The Study.com proctoring is just so much more convenient. If someone could combine SL's course format and grading scheme with Study's proctoring and upper level options, it would be perfect.
