Study.com vs Sophia - Time to complete
#1
I'm trying to plan my classes at Study.com, as I should be done with my Sophia classes in a couple months.

How do SDC classes compare time-wise to Sophia ones, in your experience? If I could finish a class in a week at Sophia, for instance, is that pretty much the same time expected for SDC, or is SDC more involved or difficult?
Current Goal:
UMPI: B.L.S. with minors in Educational Studies & International Studies

I'm 90% through my degree!

Earned:  109 credits total
JBU: 3 credits
Sophia: 76 credits
Study.com: 6 credits
UMPI: 24 credits

Depends on the classes. SDC LL classes (ones with no assignment) can be completed in about the same timeframe as Sophia classes. The ones with assignments take longer. How much longer depends on the assignments and the classes, plus your own abilities. I'd add anywhere from 3-10 days for the classes that have assignments.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Just like Sophia.org, classes vary in length with number of quizzes, milestones, touchstones, it's not an average of a week, some who cram it can do the easier ones without touchstones in a few days, even one. Classes with touchstones would take a lot longer due to grading. Sophia.org grading seems to be quick now compared to before. An example is, some people can complete 10 classes at Sophia.org a month average, mix of ones with and without the touchstone... Even more classes/faster if it's all without the touchstones.

Study.com has quizzes, final exam, assignments, for upper level courses. Lower level courses do not have the assignments and thus would be much faster to complete, again, it depends on the number of quizzes and lessons. For lower level/upper level, it'll be the same as Sophia.org, expect a week each class, grading has been much faster. Study.com is a max of 5 classes total, it's a limit in the system...
