Hi everyone!
Can someone tell me which aleks statistics course is equal to the DSST Principles of Statistics? Also, how hard is the aleks one, like how long is it taking you guys to complete it?
Thanks.

I am considering which one to take also. Currently, I am leaning towards ALEKS since it is upper-level. Even with that difference, I don't know if it is possible to get credit for both (ALEKS and DANTES). A friend on the forum told me to expect to spend 60-70 hours on ALEKS Stats. I would take Intro because I don't have a reason to take the other two that ALEKS offers, but you might want one of the more specialized versions at ALEKS.

I started intro (which does duplicate credit from the DSST) and my assessment was about 14% I think. At about 50 hours in, I'm at 46%. I had to stop since my other classes were too much, but I'll be resuming my stats mid June. I'm planning (and hoping) to pass the DSST right after passing the ALEKS course. I know that they duplicate, but I don't know if all of my future schools will take either one, so I'm doing it to cover my behind.

Yikes! 60 to 70 hours is long... wouldn't the DANTES be easier than that? My sister took that one and only studied a few weeks for it. I'm not so sure what to do now...
I'm studying Macro Economics right now and taking that test tomorrow. Then I'll assess on the Statistics and see how I do and probably get a little better feel for it. I have half a month left on my ALEKS subscription so if I could get Stats done in about a week, that'd be awesome!

It took me about 40 something hours to complete Intro. Statistics. It probably helped that I am fresh out of high school and Algebra 2.

I have to do Stats also. I was hoping to test out with the DSST test. I have been doing some practice problems. Its not quite as bad as I thought it was going to be.

I think you're right. I spent time on the math wedge because I hadn't actually learned all of the pre-stats math yet, and what I did know- needed to be dusted off

. If you have done intermediate algebra or algebra 2, it should be smooth into the actual stats and probability stuff.
As to what's easier, for "me" easier is using my notes and looking up problems that I have to solve (even if that means more hours) vs the DSST where you must remember how to solve everything. In other subjects, I was more interested in testing out.

How did it compare it beginning algebra, if you took both? Did you spend more time on one than the other?
