Question on Study.com Courses
#1
I havent taken any Study.com courses yet and Im curious....

If you get 200 points between the Quizzes and Assignments, can you basically fail the proctored final and still pass with 210/70%??? Just looking to clarify Smile

Class grading example:

Grading Breakdown
Quizzes
100
Assignments
100
Proctored Final Exam
100
Total
300

Minimum score required to pass and earn real college credit for this course is 210 or an overall course grade of 70%.

Yes this is true for courses that have assignments. If you get 100% on quizzes and assignments you'd just need to collect 10 points on the final.

For courses that don't have assignments, get 100% in the quizzes and you just need 55% on the final.

That's right, you just need an overall 70% or higher to pass the course.  As for all ACE/NCCRS credits, these are not graded.  However, having said that, you may want to try and get a higher percentage because some undergrad or grad program may want to review your alternative ACE/NCCRS credits for admission or credit transfer.

For example, UMass Global (formerly Brandman) requires an 81.5 or higher for each ACE course you want to transfer into their program.  Someone who was looking at a semi-competitive graduate program who didn't have many graded credits had to send their ACE courses for review before being admitted to that graduate program.
