It might be worth it to gather the medical records as proof of the story then pay an attorney to send a terse letter to Devry.
You might first offer about .10 cents on the dollar if they want to settle the matter and release your transcripts. Do this in writing or email (I would email), make your case and try to get their acceptance or refusal in writing.
Probably won't work, but it's where I would start.
failing all that hope and pray....but I would in that case apply for actual admission early and see if it gets noticed. At least this way you could get the degree and perhaps have a better chance of paying the Devry balance off at a later date....they have you over a barrel.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

It really depends on the school.
Are you planning on one of the Big 3? I'd imagine they'd be less inclined to care about past education. Though I've never had to look into that, so perhaps others can clarify.

I have no issue starting over since it has been so long. I guess my only question is that when the college I decide to enroll in asks for my transcripts and DeVry tells them no, will I still be able to enroll even though DeVry will not release the transcipts. I have no issue declaring that I attended there. Just hope that the school is understanding of my situation.
DeVry won't tell them no, because the college won't ask for your transcript on your behalf. It's your role to acquire an official copy of each transcript and send it to the college you're applying to.

You're going to have to climb high enough up the ladder to get to someone who has both the authority and the inclination to make an exception based on your circumstances.
Search their policies and see if they have any medical exceptions that might apply to you. Never just give up without trying. I would be most skeptical of trying to skate by without mentioning them. I would expect it not to work, or worse work for a while, then cause trouble later. TESU pretty clearly says to send all your transcripts, not just the ones you want to and they aren't unique. I know that several people in my GT masters program had their registration held up because they left out some obscure school where they took one course. Checking on your school history is easy and routine.

Did you get *any* financial aid from DeVry? If you got one dime in aid, you have a record and other schools might find out.

DeVry participates in national student clearinghouse enrollment reporting. Doesn't matter if you got financial aid not, any school will easily discover you went to devry...

As I mentioned earlier, if you had student loans/financial aid or if your school is participating in or found within the National Student Clearinghouse database, you should have a record of that info. I posted a thread reply a few weeks ago in regards to getting free access to see your student details. If you wanted to get that info, you need to subscribe to all three services, but it's free anyways.
