Hello everyone,
I recently received an email from TESU about a scholarship, which says I can take 2 general education TECEP exams for free. I have a few questions about TECEP and would like to ask for your help.
- Many people on the forum register for 1-credit TECEP exams, but I want to register for Writing for Success and Writing for Success II, which seem to be 3-credit courses. Can my scholarship fully cover their costs?
- If I fail the exam, will it affect my GPA? And will it appear on my transcript?
- The email says this scholarship can only be used for TECEP in the new semester starting from October 1st. If I register for TECEP now, do I have to start registering for and studying my other courses right away? I originally planned to start registering for and studying other courses in December.
Thank you all. Every reply from you is of great help to me.

Yes, the scholarship covers 3-credit TECEPs.

It will not affect your GPA whether you pass or fail. If you pass it will appear on your transcript with a grade of CR meaning Credit. If you fail it will not appear on your transcript. If after registering for a test, you withdraw to opt to take the test in a different semester, the withdrawal will appear on your transcript. You can have one more chance to attempt a test after failing; you would have to pay for that attempt.

No. When you register for a TECEP does not affect whether or when you register for courses.

If I register for TECEP, does it mean that the countdown for my other TESU courses will start immediately (for 12 weeks)? I originally planned to start studying other courses in December.
Basically, I just got back from a month vacation... And to answer your questions from Private Message: It's proctored close-book for most of the classes. You need a camera. You register for the month and it'll indicate the dates you will need to have completed the exam, you have 12 weeks. Here's the calendar months and the dates for each one:
