Haha, thanks for the list! They were always good to me. I see on that list that StraighterLine Business Ethics (which I did take) might duplicate DSST Business Ethics and Society, so CP could very well be right. I will have to check on it with TESC.

I should change that. In this instance, they won't duplicate. Straighterline Business Ethics won't fulfill the Business in Society requirement, but the DSST for Business Ethics in Society will.

Well thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am still going to check with TESC just to be safe. I would love to get out of taking it as a class. Now that I am in TESC I realize how spoiled I had been taking CLEP, DSST, and StraighterLine.

If TESC states the SL course will meet that requirement, please come back and report. I've read feedback from prior students who were told it would not. But course transfer equivalencies are always subject to change. TIA!

Well guys, after all this hoopla I look at my academic evaluation and it says the Business in Society/Int’l Management requirement is completed. I had been going off a "confirmed" list of classes I got from the academic adviser. (She said I needed 10 classes, my evaluation says I have 27 credits remaining) I think it must be fulfilled from SL Business Ethics. Honestly, I am not too good at reading and understanding the academic evaluation. It has Business in Society/Int’l Management fulfilled by an equivalent to PHI-384 at TESC.

I had a thought, since PHI384 is coded as humanities and BUS302-DE business, I wonder if you could also take the DSST exam and use it as a business elective? If so that would be an added bonus. Especially after taking the SL course. But in my opinion, on its own, that test was very easy. (Full disclosure, I have a lot of business experience.)

When I first received my evaluation I had some DSST exams still in the transfer process, one of them being Ethics in America. I think Business Ethics might have been previously placed where Ethics in America now is. I have an updated evaluation now.

Edit: I just check my old evaluation I had saved. This was the case. Glad I noticed this now!

So in summary, ethics in america fills the responsibility ethics requirement and SL bus ethics meets the business core requirement. If you get a chance, please ask an advisor if the dsst business ethics in society exam will fill a business elective slot? if so, what a way to take advantage of one subject at an extremely affordable price! Business electives could possibly then be completed with BUS101 DSST Intro to Bus, MAN201 DSST Prin of Supervison and BUS302 DSST Business Ethics in Society.

It is the same exact scenario as using ENG201-DSSt technical writing, ENG216 penn foster business & technical writing, and COM300 straighterline business communications. I took advantage of the overlap of subject material which made the grouping so easy to manage.

I just received the same response from TESC about the Straighterline Business Ethics course.

" you wish to take the Straighterlien course, Business Ethics, it will transfer in as PHI-384 and can apply to the Core requirement, section G."

Not a bad option if taking other Straighterline courses.
